Hi All,

I have a laptop 256gb with 80 gigs of VST's, Reason refills, and samples on the internal hard drive and Google Drive. It seems like the laptop is running slowly as I add more gigs to the internal hard drive.

Would it be efficient to purchase an external hard drive or USB and move all the files there or would it not make any performance difference?

Cloud based is not going to be as fast as native space, which is why people only use it for backups.
Offline storage is much more responsive.

If you move something from internal drive to somewhere else, the performance will only get worse. It will take longer to access stuff you use, and won't make a difference for what you don't use. The hard drive won't spin easier again if you relieve it of excess data files.

I apologize for butting in on a perfect opportunity but which weighs more, '1' or '0'?

On magnetic hard disks and flashes, 0 weighs more. On a CD, 1.
