Announcing Reason 11
I've just bought Reason 11 for the VST Rack only for Cubase 10. I like it but I don't love it..... yet
In VST Rack Mode Only:
Why can't there be functionality built in to Send midi loops to DAW track outside of Reason Full. (For Example Dr Octo Rex) - Am I really expected to draw in / play midi notes for DR Rex Files / Samples ???
Why can you assign separate Midi channels to different rack instruments to assign for DAW?
Please say I'm being silly and there is a way around these basic requirements.

Reason Studio is updated only for users of other DAW...
The buttons claimed by users of Reason are present in the Rack plugin but not in the sequencer version 11, while the space is there!

Hi,
Is R11 available for us to upgrade for free? I purchased R10 boxed licence few months ago.

There's currently no MIDI out. It's something a lot of people have been asking for in the standalone (so they can use VST MIDI effects). So I imagine the day the standalone gets that, is the day the plugin gets it too. And then you could, presumably, choose the Rack as the MIDI input of a channel and record the output. Any kind of drag-and-drop functionality would require the Rack to have a sequencer timeline, which it doesn't. And any direct Pattern-to-Track functionality would require a level of integration with the host that goes beyond what I think plugins can actually achieve. Maybe a third way is some kind of paste MIDI to clipboard...thing? But I have no idea how that'd even work! So yeah for the foreseeable, no MIDI to track.peacey wrote: ↑25 Sep 2019I've just bought Reason 11 for the VST Rack only for Cubase 10. I like it but I don't love it..... yet

Same on your second point. Multi-timbrality is something I, personally, would like in the standalone. But it'd require an overhaul of how sequencer tracks connect to devices. Currently it's automatic; every device comes with one sequencer track. What we'd need is the ability to create seq tracks *without* devices, and then a means to route them freely to devices in the rack, and a way to tell devices which channel and port they should respond to. You can, however, run multiple instances of the rack. There's no performance drop here that I've noticed. The only thing is that you miss out on modulation between different instruments/parts.
I guess this is something you need to weigh up song-to-song. If you need total routing freedom between all instruments in a track, and pattern-to-track integration, then Reason standalone is your best bet. Sorry it's not the best answer! But that's how it is right now
That functionality has always been built into Reason. You don't need buttons for it in standalone. Pressing the tap key however will not work in the Rack plugin. That's why there are buttons.

This is probably the number one thing that I hope makes it into rack .1. I just can't break that muscle memory, and I end up tabbing around Cubase in the background and deleting MIDI clips haha.

Reason Studios 11 installer still puts Reason under a "Propellerhead" folder on windows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not likely. Once Reason 11 was announced back in 26 August, they gave a window for people who bought 10 to get a free upgrade to 11 for anytime after that. I don't recall it being 2 months before the announcement, but you can reach out to support and ask them.Molotovbeatz wrote: ↑25 Sep 2019Hi,

I believe 1st August was the start of the grace period.EnochLight wrote: ↑25 Sep 2019Not likely. Ok, too bad... I'm interested by having all the half-rack effects in Intro, do you plan to sell them as a bundle, maybe with rent-t-o-own possibility ?MattiasHG wrote: ↑25 Sep 2019Ironing out some design issues still, checkmarks appearing where they shouldn't be. The top numbers are correct. The effects included in Intro are:pquenin wrote: ↑25 Sep 2019I was about to buy Reason 11 intro but I have seen some strange things on the Reason Studios site :
- they say that Intro come with 11 effects but 21 are checked in the list,
- and something that annoy me : the half-rack delay and chorus/flanger have desappeared. Can be a big problem with Combinator patches...
- and a "bug" : in the effect list, the COMP-01 Compressor/Limiter have the picture of the UN-16 Unison.
- another "bug" : the Spider CV Merger & Splitter appears twice : in the effects list and the utilities list.
So I don't know what to do because I'm not sure of what is really in the package....

Hey Mattias
Any plans to decouple REs from Reason by offering a FREE Reason Rack Plugin with no included instruments or effects? If you want REs to take off and have a better fighting chance... make the technology available to all, with no price for entry. People can buy the plugins they want, you still get your cut, developers have a bigger audience and everybody wins. That's just my opinion of course.

From the manual :
"Demo Mode is only available in the stand-alone version of Reason not in Reason Rack Plugin."

Less is more.

Don't get me wrong I do love Reason very much (don't feel the same about Reason Studios) it's just that its become a thing now on social media pages to point out the numerous mistakes, and everyone has a big laugh about it because of how ridiculous it is, especially compared to older times.

Not sure what you mean dude, both those images above were taken off Facebook, this one in particular from awesome Reason power user Ed Bauman (who now has an amazing career in the audio industry doing all kinds of television gigs and more along with being in a cool 80s band 'The Breakfast Klub' where he actually uses Reason on stage which you can see quite clearly for a moment in the video below at 25 seconds in).

So.. could anyone check please if the new SSL REs have CV in by now? I know the EQ does, but I'm interested in the other two.
Most recent track: resentment (synthwave) || Others: on my YouTube channel •ᴗ•
You know you can d/l the manual for Reason 11, right?diminished wrote: ↑26 Sep 2019So.. could anyone check please if the new SSL REs have CV in by now? I know the EQ does, but I'm interested in the other two.

I appreciate the throrough response with that RTFM you did for me, but a simple "no" would have sufficed
Simply because the manuals are currently a bit outdated.
Without CV input, these REs are not what they could have been. I don't get it Reason Studios. Why. Especially since the EQ has CV in.

That sidechain input on the Master Compressor is very nice.antic604 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2019You know you can d/l the manual for Reason 11, right?diminished wrote: ↑26 Sep 2019So.. could anyone check please if the new SSL REs have CV in by now? I know the EQ does, but I'm interested in the other two.
I feel I have a better attitude towards R11 now that it's out. This one simply isn't for me, but I'm at ease missing a cycle (well partly, I may still get R11 Intro). The stuff I like in 11 will be a bonus when R12 comes out.
I want to use my tools more and I'm wasting energy being critical.
