how to record emo generator output

anyone have waves emo generator, or really any vst that generates sound independant of midi input?
i am having a brain fart as to how to route it's audio so i can record it.
audio tracks only let me choose actual inputs on my hardware in reason, whereas in some other DAWs i can choose virtual inputs.
am i forgetting something?

On the mix channel for the device you want to record click the button on the right side to use as a recording source. Then it will be available as a virtual input.
