To celebrate the release of ES01 Analog Synthesizer, a faithful recreation of a timeless classic (well, not that faithful, as it adds quite a number of features to the original), Ekssperimental Sounds Studio, Robotic Bean and ReasonTalk invite you to participate in the ES01 Song Challenge!

Check what it is if you haven't already:

You know the drill: submit a song within three weeks, and possibly win a copy of the device, plus some juicy prizes on top! Don't worry: if you do not win, you'll still be able to take advantage of the introductory price (59€/$ instead of 79€/$) until March 31st!

Rules
  • Theme: none, go berserk!
  • Duration: your song should be at least 2 minutes.
  • Songs should be submitted before Wednesday March 14th, Midnight CET (that's for most of Europe, which translates to Monday 3PM PST, Monday 5PM CST, Monday 6PM EST and Tuesday 10AM AEDT).
  • Only one entry per participant.
  • Your song must be submitted through this form: https://competition.reasontalk.com/ekss/
  • ES01 must be the only synth used in your song.
  • Drums and FX are allowed, whether Rack Extensions or VSTs.
  • Samples, other than drums, aren't allowed, unless you resample ES01 and process it. Be aware that we will ask you to provide the Reason project file to check for compliance to these rules: if you bounce to track, leave the original lane/device intact!
  • Vocals are allowed.
  • Submissions are final.
  • Do not change the link to your song once you have submitted it. That includes changing the visibility setting from public to private, or vice-versa!
  • Do not use copyrighted samples or material that hasn't been cleared.
  • No remixes or cover songs, your work must be 100% original.
  • You are welcome to share your submissions in this thread before the competition ends.
  • You agree to allow non-exclusive rights to the editors of ES01 to use your song (only for the promotion of the device): for instance, adding the song to the sound demos on the Shop page. If you do not agree with this rule, please do not participate.
  • Staff members of Ekssperimental Sounds Studio, Robotic Bean and ReasonTalk aren't allowed to participate in this competition.
  • Winners will be announced a few days after the competition ends.

OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN!
How was I supposed to know "don't touch" meant to not push the big...red...button?

Joining in on the fun. Had my mind set on what I wanted to do for this one but threw it out the window once I put myself up against a wall. Can't wait to share my idea and hear what everyone else comes up with.

Just to get this straight. Am I allowed to bounce a ES01 snippet and load it into grain for processing?
:?: The question is - Who cares :?:

Yes, you are! As stated, just make sure that we can retrace the process (for instance, keep the clip you bounced to use in Grain).

This was a lot of fun. Had something else in mind when I first trialed this RE and ended up going a completely different route. Hope you guys like it and good luck to all! Can't wait to hear what others come up with.

This one is called Dark Matter. Enjoy.

Here is my entry. The title says everything. Enjoy.

Btw: The changed submitting of the competition entry lacks some feedback if everything worked well. Maybe a PM would help.

I don't have time to respond to each entry individually, but these are all really great. Nice work, everybody!

Any comments welcome so fire at will.
