I have Reason 8 and I am wanting to purchase the Reason 9.5 update but I was just wondering why music stores are selling Propellerhead Reason 9.5 boxed upgrade for £99 yet on the Propellerhead website the digital download upgrade is €129 which is £115? Seems strange that the boxed version is £16 cheaper than the digital download. Please advise.

If you are seeing it for €/$99, sounds like that store is offering it on sale. It is typically €/$129 through Propellerhead and other retailers (boxed or download). The box doesn't include the software, as you still have to download the software. You do get stickers though!

For whatever reasons it has always been less expensive to buy or upgrade through 3rd party sellers. For me anyway. I did get my 9.5 upgrade at the props site because its immediate .

Thanks for the reply. Can anyone in the UK who has purchased the upgrade on the Propellerheads website tell me if I purchase the Reason 9.5 upgrade from the website will it cost me £115 as that's what currency converter tells me €129 is in British Pound Sterling or will €129 be £129 because I know on Apple's App Store anything priced for example at $9.99 is £9.99.

It's really simple. Buy the cheapest version. Unless you're a Propellerhead fanboy and want to spend more money than is actually needed.

Don't go strictly on what online currency converters say. Whatever service you end up using for payment will have it's own rates for conversion that always include a little bit off the top for themselves. eg:

xe.com says AUD $1 = USD $0.799309
but paying through Paypal will result in AUD $1 = USD $0.761796

So it's small, but you will end up paying slightly more than what something like XE would suggest.

I understand the frustration with having to pay in a foreign currency. And whenever online stores just set a standard amount no matter what the currency, it's just crap.

I'm in the UK, Exeter, and it costs me the conversion rate plus a handling fee and conversion cost. They are normally small, I'm with a major high st bank, but they do add up on small purchases. For your estimated £115, I reckon you'll be nearer 119.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will order the upgrade from my local music store at £99 and just wait for the postman to appear with it. I am a bit uncomfortable paying for something in foreign currencies since the British Pound isn't doing too good anyway.
