How do you use audio convert audio to a gate trigger?

There are a couple of envelope followers but that's not quite what I want - I want to use audio to generate a gate signal. Any ideas?

The free re 180. Audio in and it's cv out use threshold to set it's sensitivity and attack and hold for your finer touches simple as pie

Out of curiosity, anyone have an idea of how to make a combi that does this?
