Strange. It should "just work". Have you tried selecting "full editor" for your post? Also, try another browser like Chrome, Edge, or Opera and see if it's browser related. I'm on Chrome and whenever I post a YouTube URL, it automatically embeds.bpmorton wrote:I see that everybody else can embed Youtube videos but all I get is a URL link when I paste a video link in. I;ve looked for a control for this but can't find it. I'm running Firefox.

Yeah, I'm using the full posting feature. I do notice that one of my options says "[flash] is OFF" but there seems no option to turn it on. Also, not sure when you replied to this post as I do not get notification emails for this group for some reason.EnochLight wrote:Strange. It should "just work". As for forum notifications, go here and make sure your desired notification options are checked correctly:bpmorton wrote:Yeah, I'm using the full posting feature. If you want email notification, make sure your email is correct here too:

You also have to check off "Notify me when a reply is posted" in the thread itself at the bottom in the options, if it's not already checked off.
As for YouTube and Flash, it hasn't used Flash since January of 2015 - it's all in HTML5 in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and IE (at least the default YouTube player is in HTML5, including embedded links here at Reasontalk.com).
Have you tried clearing your browser cache? You're on the latest version of Firefox, correct (41.0.2)? Have you tried another browsers as suggested?
*EDIT: looks like only the beta version of Firefox was using HTML5 for YouTube - at least back in January of this year. Not sure if they fixed it since then, as this forum doesn't use Flash to my knowledge... so if Firefox is stuck with Flash still, that might be your issue. Try Chrome or IE or something...

All you have to do embed youtube videos is just include the link. No need for BBCode or anything. Just paste the full link directly into your post and it will be embedded automatically.
