[SOLVED] max signature size

I'd like to suggest to set a maximum to images in signatures. Right now it seems anything goes.
If i look here : https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtop ... 5#p8453435 it seems doing so is supported.

But i would like to be able to see signatures though. There can be helpfull info in there, like which reason version people are using, wether they are Re afficionados or not.. Soundcloud links. That is stuff i do appreciate. So in order for there to be a little bit of balance where users have a hard time balancing, i think it be nice to lend them a hand where we can. Community spirit as it were

That would be great and a guideline also on what they can and can not contain... Don't want to disable all sigs so I usually just block the ones that get on my nerves. And on that note, something could be done to the header image for the 'Black' theme... it is a whopper (oh yes, I blocked that one too).

How does this blocking of yours work ? i'd love to block certain parts of certain profiles. By browser plugin ?

There should be guidelines on max size. Why should others have to block sigs because someone feels the need to overly draw attention to themselves?

Agreed. The smaller the better, IMO.

This probably won't be a popular opinion, but I'd even argue for text-only signatures. Embeds and images just clutter up the place and distract from the actual content of the posts. Do I really need to scroll past somebody's SoundCloud player 10 times in a thread they're active in?

We have the basic guideline from the forum rules:

- We encourage you to make sure your signatures are a reasonable size to avoid clutter. If you don't do it and it is excessive, I will be glad to do it for you.

So basically, Lunesis will take care of problem signatures, and I'm guessing if he has to do it more than once or twice, you'll get a visit to ban town.

I can confirm, that we can set very specific rules for signature sizes, from width and height, max image size, max smilies and max characters.

I will run this issue by Lunesis.

We cant enforce this on existing signatures, but the ruleset has been changed as follows:

Max size: 255 characters
No font oversize
Max image size: 20x20 px
