Pattern changes on Redrum with Pro Tools

Anyone know how to program a pattern change on the Reason Redrum sequencer via Pro Tools? I'm running Pro Tools Studio and Reason 13. I can write MIDI notes and trigger samples, trying to figure out how to program some pattern changes like you can do in the Reason Sequencer when using it as a standalone device. Can you change the patterns to switch from A1 to A2, etc? Any help appreciated.

There should be an automatable control for the pattern (number). Of course it will not show the names of the patterns in your DAW but instead it will most likely be just a float value between 0.0 and 1.0.

RRP Pattern automation from a DAW is awkward. The RRP doesn't make pattern numbers from its pattern devices visible to the DAW, so you're stuck with using arbitrary values in the automation. For a device like DrumSequencer, with only 8 patterns, it's manageable, but for Redrum, which has 32 patterns, it' a drag. I found a much better solution that allows you to use MIDI notes in the DAW track to select patterns. (I'm using Logic, but I'm pretty sure it would work in ProTools too).
1. Put Redrum into a Combinator and map "Key" to "Selected Pattern". Set the Min to 0 and leave the Max at 31.
2. Set Source Range to the note range you want to use to recall the 32 patterns. In my example, the range is 60 (note number C3) to 91 (note number G5).
3. Turn off "Key" for the device itself, so incoming notes don't trigger actual drum sounds.
MIDI notes C3 to G5 will select Redrum patterns A1 to D8, one note per pattern, no messing around with arbitrary automation values.

Here's what it looks like in Logic to 'automate' a Redrum pattern chain of C3-> B6-> B8-> B1.
