Hello all,
after a few years 'out of the box', i'd like a simple setup to get back IN the (Reason-)box
I have Reason 13 and also a Dreadbox Typhon synthesizer.
looking for an audio interface that let's me record the Typhon in Reason but also a microphone, as i'll probably get the BV-X vocoder at some point in the future.
Also what MIDI-keyboard do people use these days that has somewhat good integration in Reason? (many keys is not a requirement).
Thx in advance, and curious what suggestions pop up !

In my experience, the optimal solution (with a Rode NT1 microphone) is the Focusrite Scarlett Solo. At least it's a good bang for the buck for starters. However, I use it for recording only.
(I tested the other parts, which are pretty good, too, but I have a better DAC and HP Amp.)

You need stereo, or MIDI? Then Motu M2 perhaps. But check audio specs and compare on audiosciencereview.com.Emian wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024yes, but i won't be able to record the Typhon with a Scarlett Solo i believe....RobC wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024In my experience, the optimal solution (with a Rode NT1 microphone) is the Focusrite Scarlett Solo. Typhon is stereo output. an audio-interface with MIDI-out is a plus!

There is the Motu M4 in that case.
(Btw, I use Topping E30 II as a premium DAC, and L30 II, which is supposedly the world's best headphone amp.)

If you can afford it, the new Ultralite is an exceptional choice, 10 in and out, Dc coupled.
Compressors and other goodies that can be used standalone on the unit.

I got the Arturia Minifuse 4. Two headphone sockets for silent collab without the neighbours bugging us.
I hope that helps.

I was looking at big brands' entry level products, too, but I read on forums that we mostly pay for the brand name and the quality won't be as good as their flagship products'. That said I didn't find any independent, professional measurements of those devices in particular so I can't judge them.
