Great to see them sticking with their free update thing and holding the purchase price at the same level that it has been at for years. And great to see them adding so much. A version of Drummer is in GarageBand on the iPad and it's a remarkably effective way to get decent drums without needing much knowledge about drumming.
One of theses days I'll have a weak moment and buy a Mac. The only trouble is I won't want an entry level one so the prices can quickly get pretty crazy. I can afford it but I can't quite justify it to myself.

I'm still using a 2015 2.2GHz Intel MacBook Air with 8 GB RAM and completing big projects. I would think any current Mac at base specs would be more than enough. But yeah, when I start choosing specs, I find the need to max everything out since it can't be upgraded later. And I know the price has been talked about a lot here, but I feel like what you get is justified and it's not Teenage Engineering prices lolDaveyG wrote: ↑07 May 2024Great to see them sticking with their free update thing and holding the purchase price at the same level that it has been at for years. I'm very curious what the AI Session players can do.

One thing I did when upgrading to an M1 mini recently was to to install the OS on an 2TB external drive so that I no longer had to worry about paying Apple storage prices (and my home directory is on the external drive). With the thunderbolt connection it's about as fast as the internal drive and I have the added benefit that when it comes time to replace the M1, all my files are all ready to plug into the the new system. (The internal drive becomes just an emergency boot drive).joeyluck wrote: ↑07 May 2024I'm still using a 2015 2.2GHz Intel MacBook Air with 8 GB RAM and completing big projects. Was Logic named after Reason, or Reason after Logic? Or a bit of both, some seasoning, and random titles and features, just to stay on top of the curve, like a guitar string can be.

Wow, just updated to Logic Pro 11 and it has an AI feature I used to use online for separating a stereo track into stems. Just tried it and it works extremely well!

I had to uninstall Logic due to not having enough HDD space.. (lousy 500GB internal storage) Maybe I'll try and get it back..
