After hooking up the Akai MPKmini mk3 with MacMini (OS OS 13.6.3) launching Reason Studios (version 12.7), I could play the notes of the devices in Reason Studios by the MPKmini’s keyboard & pads, the joystick works fine too, but there the 8 knobs (k1 to k8) just do not work, say I would like to use the knobs to adjust the subtractor’s filter cutoff, resonance etc., turning the knobs just do not do anything, please let me know how to fix this.

I have the same synth... Here's how you do it in Reason (I'm using Europa as an example)

Right click on the knob you want to be assign and choose "Edit Remove Override Mapping"

Then choose your control surface, "Akai MPK mini mk3" and make sure that "Learn from control surface input is checked. Move the knob and you should see a green line moving back and forth indicating it is assigned. Then hit OK. A visual representation is below:

As per the release notes a codec for mini mk3 was added. So I asumme the knobs should be pre configured per device and there should not be a need to use overrides.

Have you added the controller correctly?

Yes, I've added the controller correctly. Unfortunately, at least for Windows 10, althuogh I can use the pads for Kong, and the bend/mod wheels work, automatic assigned knobs in Europa, Thor, Malstrom etc. are not there. I'm on the latest Reason 12 update, and just to make sure, I removed the MPK Mk III in the prefs and put it back... and still doesn't work.

Also, when the Windows computer is in sleep mode or shut down, I have to manually remove the midi cable and put it back in to make it work. Thankfully I have a Mac Mini M1 which handles my other synths perfectly. I could attach it to the Mac but it does its job on the Windows machine, and assigning knobs are easy, as shown above.

same here. took me a whole afternoon to fix it. looks like reason studios has messed up the akai mpk mini mk3 codec on12.7 update.

download and install https://github.com/philoSurfer/reason-mpk-mini-mk3 reason codecs, overwriting existing ones.
akai mpk mini editor:
set knobs to cc70 - cc79
start reason
reinstall the akai mpk mini mk3 instrument.
voila: working again.

sometimes i could really cry about such waste of time....
