M track duo input greyed out

I’m hoping someone has had the same problem and figured it out. I have a Mac m1 Mac OS 13. I have searched and searched. I have an m audio m track duo. In my preferences I have selected it as my audio interface. The output plays . But no input is detected. In preferences I go to audio and open the panel and see the output for the mtrack has sliders with the volume turned up. But I switch to the input and I can’t even click on those faders. I can't figure out why I can't get the inputs to be recognized. No info at reason or m audio. Thanks.
