with an abundance of
free software now
literally all the new free kontakt player instruments
spitfire audio labs
orchestral tools sine player free instruments
synths like surge vital
free samples etc etc
pro free effects
reverbs like supermassive
do we need to pay anymore ?
the only problem
is the one free daw is now tracktion
as cakewalk is moving to
paid
still waiting for behringers
free daw if that ever happens
the problem
with paid stuff is the way it’s moving now
always more payments etc etc
and when you have paid stuff like a reason shop , new toys come
out we look we buy we don’t use
and now we HAVE TO upgrade if we want to use the stuff we paid for already
what if we all used something free and donated once in a while ?
as i’m mostly gonna be recording now and doing very very minimal productions
i’m thinking to cut down buying any new stuff completly
that kinda leave me on reason 11 presonus artist the latest one or tracktion free ( which is a bit behind the latest version
or ableton lite ( which i could probably always upgrade )
my question is it absolutly possible to go completly free or is there always cost involved ?
is it time 2 go free ?is it possible

Have you tried endless? Give it a shot and report back in a few weeks of using it. It is free.

A few other free DAWs
* Ardour (open source traditional recording DAW)
* Pure Data (~ open source Max)
* Audacity (open source multitrack audio editor)
* Rosegarden (open source midi and notation DAW)
* Milky Tracker (open source classic tracker workflow)
* OpenMPT (open source more modern tracker workflow)
* Radium (tracker inspired open source DAW, doing things quite a little different)
Combined with free plugins you can get pretty much done without any hassle from DRM (digital restriction management).
