Just saw this via email. Had my attention, until I saw the price tag - WHICH IS LAUGHABLE IMHO ($1200 USD):  :o

Thoughts??

Interesting. The price is indeed extreme for a 6 channel mixer. How much does the SSL six cost?

I have the bluebox, that suits my mixer needs perfectly. So while this is certainly interesting, no gas has been triggered around here 😀

Totally. When you can get a Zoom LiveTrak L12 or a TASCAM Model 12 for half the cost that is infinitely more "pro" than the TX-6, it makes me realize how much of a "lifestyle" brand Teenage Engineering has become. I mean, I get that it's battery powered (though the battery warning is pretty ominous - LOL!) but come on...

The price is obscene...
I like the idea and endeavour but at this price I would more likely get an air ticket for Greece and spend a month in a 3 star hotel with sea view...
Overengineering has reached a new level...

I''m curious if it could also work as audio interface... it could somehow make an explanation for such ludicrous price...
It says usb audio/midi interface... sooo... :?: Where exactly is the midi in/out supposed to go???

I don't think they can justify that price and I am far from their biggest fan but it is not just a mixer. It also contains a simple synth and drum machine and a few FX. The MIDI is so you can play the synth and drums over USB. It will also send MIDI via wireless so I think it is mostly aimed at the iPad market. If they knock 90% off the price they might even sell some to that market.

They need to change their tagline to something "Making really expensive things look really cheap" haha

I look at the price of the TX-6, and then I see the price of the new Elektron Syntakt... which is $200 USD cheaper and a far more powerful studio tool IMHO. I can only SMH at Teenage Engineering.
