Hello, pleas I really need help, I really hope someone has the answer here, my head is going to explode for real.
I bought this super expensive Neve 1073 SPX and it just doesn't work.

So, what I am using is:
- MacBook Pro
- Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
- Neve 1073 SPX

Everything is correctly plugged in, all connected, when I use the guitar, it does work normally, but when I use the microphone there's NO WAY to make it work. I already tried the front input and the back input, both don't get any signal from the microphone. When I use the microphone with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 'ONLY', it works normally, but there is no way to make it work with the preamp. Yes, I am activating the phantom power in the preamp (and not in the interface), and I don't thing the inputs are broken or damaged, it is a new product which makes me hate the situation even more.

I have tried using a one ring jack and a two ring jack to connect the preamplifier to the interface, no difference.

Does anyone have any idea of the possible solution for this?

Don’t know what the focusrite interfaces look like but have you selected the mic input?
Turned up the gain knob?

Be careful with Phantom Power. It can damage the mic if it doesn't need it.

Raise the gain knob, get closer to the mic, select the right input device and channel.

Are you unplugging the DI (guitar) input when using the microphone input?
I’m guessing (since theres no dedicated button) the DI input overrides all other inputs, which would cause what you’re describing. :)

Only for very old ribbon mics!
There are very few cases where phantom power can damage even a ribbon microphone, and that involves using a TRS patch bay with phantom power or using vintage ribbon microphones. In fact, most modern ribbon microphones need phantom power to work!. Plugging XLR cables doest do this, and other mic types cannot be damaged by receiving phantom power.
Still, if you want to be EXTRA cautious, just turn it off when making connections. :)
