Hi all'
Looking for some advice on a Powered USB hub.
My setup at the moment consists of
Reason 11
M-Audio oxygen 61 controller
Roland Aira Mx-1
NI Maschine Mk3
a few old midi boxes I loved from years ago Kork ER-1 and EA-1
and a Behringer TD-3 (303 clone) also USB

Im running all this through my MacBook Pro on Catalina
My MacBook only has 2 USB ports so I purchased a no name USB hub with 7 ports with on off switches , its also powered so as to run more power hungry USB devices like the MX-1 (audio interface) Maschine (audio interface) and the Traktor controller is also a USB audio interface.

When any of the audio interfaces are plugged into the hub they don't run so smoothly and dropout but run fine once connected directly to the MacBook.
As my setup is setup in place and not mobile I was hoping to avoid pulling things apart the plug things in and out with the powered USB hub but its doesn't seem to be cutting it.

My separate HD with all my sample and music is also intermittent on the USB hub powering up sometimes but not always.

Id like to have everything plugged in but be able to DJ and select Traktor as the Audio I/O when required and the MX1 when running reason and Maschine when playing with that but Im always unplugging USB connectors instead as they all seem to want to be connected to the Mac.

Does anyone have a good USB hub that will power multiple Items although not really all at once.
Given the MacBooks 2 usb pots Im stuck with having to find a USB hub.

Back in my good times I had everything Midi and ran 1 USB port for a MOTU 8x8 usb midi interface but now everything is USB.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Jay

I used to run several powered hubs. Like you, I like to have it all plugged in. Things got weird, I plugged in less things, things returned to norbal. That's all I know right now.
Who’s using the royal plural now baby? 🧂

I've had a Uspeed one for a few years, more recently it's started to occasionally drop a device now and again but I think I've had my monies worth.
@pushedbutton on twitter, add me, send me a message, but don't try to sell me stuff cos I'm skint.
Using Reason since version 3 and still never finished a song.
