I'm going for the UC1.
Will report back as to the true reality of how well it works in Reason as soon as I can.
I've also been in contact with SSL in regards to trying and make this work in Reason ( at least as far as track names propagating to the UC-1 are concerned ). They seem interested..... in asking for video showing what my issue was.
Fingers crossed.
If anyone is interested in the videos I have on this... they aren't great, but they illustrate what does not work with Reason and the UC-1/360 mixer.

Yep, the frontier AlphaTrack also displays track names and works beautifully with the mixer.dannyF wrote: ↑08 Jun 2021Good to know its possible then..... if they sorted this out I might more seriously consider it.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑08 Jun 2021Yeah. I mix on live though so that would be no issue. Shame that Reason is not always supported...
But some can and do show track names, like Maschine with the MaschineR software, so it is possible, just they don't take the time to get it sorted♂️

This looks interesting also. It doesn't have the LED feedback of Console 1 or the UC-1 but the price and layout is good.

I understand it's half the price - but I think the limitations make it not much better than operating with a mouse in the box. I've tried and owned "nearly-got-it-right" controllers over the years and always pack them up again, put them onto eBay, and move back into the box.dioxide wrote: ↑23 Jun 2021This looks interesting also. One of the big selling points of UC1, compared to devices like those from Rock Solid Audio, is the deep integration it has with your DAW (especially those that are on SSL's compatible list). If you watch various Youtube videos on UC1, you can immediately see the workflow improvements, it's the closest thing to actually owning a 9000K in your own studio. It's the first controller I've seen where I believe that you can operate your DAW without constantly returning back to your screen and mouse.

Some time has passed and I want to inquire if there is any movement on UC1 and reason.
Has anyone managed to somehow improve the work with the links between reason and 360?
Thank.

I use it just in Studio One. I only use Reason as a plugin now. I've never tried it in the Reason daw.
However... It should work directly in Reason, straight out of the box, because it communicates directly with SSLs plugins for its core functionality and this is not done via Mackie.
I googled it and got this response... While the UC1 can work with Reason, it's important to note that Reason's channel/track names won't appear in the 360 software or the UC-1 controller. Instead, you'll see "Track 1", "Track 2", etc.
If you can live with that little issue of track name not appearing on the device, then you'll be fine.
The sister device SSL UF8 uses Mackie to communicate, and that device might require some bespoke remote mapping.
I have both the UC1 and UF8 and it's been a central part of my music making chores. I tried the other day to use my daw without it, and it was a really strange experience... it felt cumbersome and slow in comparison.
