I have done a similar thing. The equipment came from a hardware store (with a bit of customisation).
As a side note I have been looking at some of the "Vesa" arms...

Nice! Is that in a closet/cubby or on an open wall?

I wonder if you can use gear that does not have the holes made for those arms?

It is on a wall to the left of where I sit/stand and where my height adjustable table is. It is a small room.

Possibly, I didn't need to though as there was a variety of modular pieces available. I did cut the top shelf back so those devices sit a bit further back and allow open access to the shelf below. The slots are part of the strength and integrity of the system.
Might be a bit hard to make out from the photo but the shelves are on about a 15 degree angle down.

* UPDATE *
So I decided to crack my SQ-1+ open and have a peek around. Wanted to see if the battery was indeed a BR2032 button cell, as I plan to replace it:
Yep - it was! So I ordered one of these to replace it:

But... it's going to take a couple of weeks to get the replacement BR2032 button cell, so I put the bottom panel back on and went to set it back onto the top wall bracket. And..
things went horribly wrong. I didn't tighten the top bracket enough, so it slid out - and my 28 pound/12.7 kilo classic workstation came crashing down right on top of my vintage Roland JX-8P, which caused it to slam onto the concrete base floor, and one of the JX's keys caught on my jeans and snapped off. As a result, my previously almost perfectly working JX-8P now has a broken key, gets frequently stuck notes, and has at least 3 keys that won't even trigger a note. This literally brought tears to my eyes:
So now I need to work on repairing my JX-8P. To the Ensoniq's defense, that thing is built like a tank and still works fine. But it's also mostly metal and very gig-worthy. The JX-8P was Roland's continued shift to cheap manufacturing and mostly plastic. Sucks.

Man that's not good, hope you can get it all fixed. I'm just glad I only have to worry about the one loose screw in subtractor.

Wow!
This thread is kind of symbolic of the Reason+ announcement.
Hope you get it sorted out. Could prolly crazy glue the key back on and a splint - good luck with those other notes.

That could have been done a bit better.

Indeed, it could! It's the second time in my life I have ever soldered anything, though, and all I really wanted was for it to work - which it does. So I'm good. I'd never make it as a professional soldering technician though (if that is really a thing).
But I saved myself roughly $250 in repair shop fees, so... there's that.
