Reason Track Selection

I am investigating what is possible in terms of controlling Reason and other hardware controllers from some "Man in the Middle" (MITM) type of software. The general goal is to add to the capabilities of Reason using hardware devices (e.g.Behringer X-Touch, Softube Console 1 and Fader 1).

Although I am new to the world of Reason Remote maps and Lua codecs I come from the corporate world and have many years experience as a professional programmer. So, the actual logic and coding does not concern me . I have been looking at existing Remote maps and Lua codecs for various controllers and have written some experimental stuff and have a good grasp of how things "hang" together. One thing that seems to be a stumbling block is Reason track selection. My simple question is, does anyone know is it even possible to select Reason tracks - bear in mind that my MITM software can generate any midi command.
