I am interested in getting a hardware sampler. The current crop on the market all seem to be about beat sequencing and stand alone music production but I'm after something that is good at being an instrument.
I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with the old rack mount samplers?
Features I require are ideally: multisampling, key mapping, stereo samples, multiple outputs , basicly a NNXT in real life! Multi timbral midi would be a bonus.

Check this out. I used to own a S-50, and later on had access to a S-770 for a while. Lovely sound.

Get one of the last gen E-mu samplers. Great libraries and best filters etc (Z-plane). Knocks the socks of Akai and the rest.
10% off at Waves with link: https://www.waves.com/r/6gh2b0

Heard great things about the 1010 blackbox, check that out as an option maybe?

Thanks for the suggestions, I have checked them all out. The Roland is fetching prices far too high for me. The E-mu's look great but only have single stereo pair for output.
The Black box looks fun but for the price it's limited. No key mapping is a big omission. I trolled their forum and there are a few dissatisfied customers. The current firmware is kind of beta I think.
I am considering an Akai s3000xl . I wish they made exactly the same kind of device but with contemporary insides.
