Hello everyone,
In another thread, I was discussing guitar to MIDI, and the conversation led to me attempting to link the standalone version of JamOrigin's MIDI Guitar 2 (MG2) using the virtual loopback MIDI Cable LoopMIDI
It appears to have been somwhat successful, in that it does send data from the source app into Reason via the EMI. But there is a major problem now, in that as soon as I trigger a note, it sends a multitude of signals into EMI. And eventually I reach an overload point, and the virtual cable crashes.
I have done some elmination troubleshooting, and at the very least determined what the problem isn't, if that makes sense. So I'm asking for some advice on what the problem is.
1. Changed Guitars & Cables
2. Changed input gain on MG2
3. Switched Audio Interface to an empty input (ie; nothing connected)
4. Unplugged Audio Interface completely
At this stage I am down to the bare bones, of triggering MG2 by using it's onboard keys.
The setup is as follows:
Created a New Virtual Cable
EMI input set to detect Virtual Cable
EMI MIDI Channel set to '1'
(more to come, seems to be an attachment limit on posts)
Issues with Virtual MIDI Cable & EMI
And as soon as I press a key on the on-screen keyboard within MG2, the EMIL Sequencer Channel shows an ongoing note input, represented by the green indicator to the left
Here's how that input looks when I record it
Finally, it appears that the virtual cable is crashing after a very short time
Here is the error message out of Reason
And this is the error message from Windows
