Behringer is releasing a lot of good stuff lately!

Want to talk about music hardware or software that doesn't include Reason?

Yes, cool stuff. But at this time these aren’t released yet, no?

Behringer has been putting out quality stuff for years now. I think there were a few years where their quality wasn’t good (this was quite some time ago—10 years or more, I think), but they’ve rebounded, and I don’t hesitate to pick up a Behringer product, if it’s something I could use. sucks that the remnants of that are still haunting them. glad to see they’re putting out some cool instruments these days now too.

The quality and especially the design of their products took a huge leap forwards a few years ago after a merger or acquisition iirc - around the time they went from the old FCB1010/BCF2000/ADA8000 era product line to the new stuff like X-touch/Deepmind/Neutron/X32. Their older stuff represented decent value in some cases, and stuff like the BCF2000 and ADA8000 filled niches in the market where they really had no competition at the same price point. Since the merger or whatever (i can't remember who bought/merged with/ invested in them but something happened) they have been going from strength to strength with some really ambitious, category disrupting product lines that represent a whole nother level of market insight and design resources compared to the old behringer. If I'm not mistaken they've been on a bit of a buying spree themselves lately - I know for sure they've acquired midas and tc electronic in the last couple of years.

If you're thinking about getting any of the x-touch series controller to use with Reason be aware that you won't have anywhere near it's full functionality due to Propellerheads broken ass half finished non-implementation of Mackie Universal control protocol. This poor guy has been trying to reverse engineer the thing to clean up Propellerhead's years old mess for them for awhile now... http://www.jaexx.com/blog/reason-custom ... ap-layout/
I eventually gave up about six months after getting back into reason and just sold my x-touch to buy a panorama p4 and an akai mpd32. It's a damn shame because having full control of the SSL mixer via an x-touch with flying faders and everything would be sweet.

yeah, I noticed they mentioned they supported several DAW's, but Reason was not one of them. I also use pro tools and logic for the heavy lifting. thanks for the words of wisdom!

Ditto on off-loading the X-Touch. But, I do have the Motor 61, and haven't had any issues.
I think that's just on-going MIDI 'problems in the world today.' Godspeed to the Reason MIDI Controller designers.

About Behringer - The 'Good Stuff' lately is all 'Analog' Oscillators, I believe. This is a 'Good thing.'

I only have the Behr D. But, it's made me trust Behringer for the foreseeable.
I like noise on the Minibrute 2s but the Behringer D noise is something special to work with.

808 looks like a no-brainer. But, let's get that CRAVE released, Behringer! Please!!!
... this is $200 Bucks???! Every kid should have one!

For another 100 dollars there is the Neutron. After watching a couple of demos this is my chief hardware lust after the Korg Volca Modular.
