As a guitarist I know the difference a good cable can make. But what about midi in/out to usb. Prices for these things range from around €8 from China to €70 for the big names. Is it just that? Name brands or is there a difference in terms of the signal they carry? Just wondered. Anyone know?

Except for durability / well-soldered contacts, it shouldn't make any difference. MIDI is a digital signal.
Cable length and electromagnetic noise however should be kept minimal, but that's true for any non-symmetrical transmitted signal.
:reason: Most recent track: resentment (synthwave) || Others: on my YouTube channel •ᴗ•

Thanks. The one I bought for cheap actually seems like pretty good quality.

I solder my own mogami SCSI cables. It really makes that Reason sound pop!
Who’s using the royal plural now baby? 🧂
