Music Promo Videos

Hey, was wondering if any of you are making promotional videos for your music to be used on Social Media and other platforms. I've been seeing a lot of cool videos that people are making to promote their music. A lot of times it's just a basic picture or background with a text/logo for the song and artist, then there will be some cool after effects like a graphical equalizer, motion effects like snow falling or stars moving past, and other creative effects. Just wanted to know if anyone here has experience with this and if so, what program you're using? Also any other information concerning video editing or after effects is welcome. I just downloaded Hitfilm Express (Free) for video editing and motion effects, and Gimp (Free) for picture editing for the background image.
