Damn - reading more, this is just about as close a synth to Thor as one could ask for, and then some…

Three oscillators, two filters with 1,2,3,4 pole ladder filters AND a multimode filter, step sequencer, arp, generous FX, multitimbral, 4 LFOS, 3 ENVs, CV I/O, and more.

Time to sell the car…

Wow, no kidding! This looks absolutely stellar, like an all-grown-up Subsequent 37 but with so many voices.

The Andromeda was the last 16 voice analog synth I played (many years ago), and there is something indeed magical about mashing ten fingers at once on chords and hearing everything happen at once. Power is the first word that comes to mind.

Amazing! People have been asking for a poly Moog for years. Now it's here I bet most of them will be complaining about the price. Moog are premium products & it looks like they've pulled out the stops here. A thing of beauty. Can't wait to hear it so I can't start dreaming in audio.

I think the best way to look at the price is as "cost per voice". First of all, each voice of the Moog One is pretty robust, feature wise.
Compared to the Moog Mother32 "voice", you have two more oscillators, one more filter, better noise source with env, three more LFOs, three more powerful ENVs, two more sequencers, and three ARPs. Not to mention a keyboard and high end FX (x3, 1 per "synth").

Each Mother32 voice costs $600 USD.
Multiply that by 8 and you get $4800.
Multiply that by 16 and you get $9600!

So an all in one 16 voice analog poly synth from Moog costing $8000 suddenly doesn't seem like that big of a stretch, though it's still FAR out of range for most folks. Even if I had a spare $8k to invest in my music gear, I can think of SO many better ways to spend it. STILL, despite all the logical arguments against it, I'm dreaming of the possibilities of this synth. Can't seem to totally dismiss it at any price, as it hits ALL the marks for an analog poly synth that I've been in the market for over the past year or so, and nothing else comes close in features (or in price).

This really is the closest thing to Thor I've ever seen in the hardware realm.

I don't have an issue with the price. I mean this is not something I expect to ever own. It's a premium product. I'm cool with that. I'm glad that Moog have gone to town on this one. It looks like a beast of a synth. It's good to see synths like this appearing. Moog could have done an affordable poly synth. But it wouldn't be the same. The One looks incredible. I can't wait to hear it. I'm sure it will sound amazing as well. And so much potential for sound design. Amazing.

Love that video. It sounds amazing. I think these days we have some amazing software tools that can in all likelihood deliver this kind of sound without too much trouble. But as a complete instrument with amazing sound, design, build quality, playability, interface. You have to say the Moog One looks like one of the best electronic instruments ever made. Just incredible. A thing of beauty. Something to dream about.

In terms of it being more affordable & financially justifiable to mere mortals. I wonder if we might see the Moog One technology filter down in to other Moog instruments? I'm not a player. So this kind of thing is somewhat lost of me anyway. But the hands-on interface, amazing build quality & sound design capability. That's something I could very much get into. Maybe a cut down 4 voice, desktop version? I'd start saving for that today

Premium onboard effects
Moog One offers a growing library of programmable per-synth and master bus effects, including chorus, delay, phase, bit reduction, vocoding, and a suite of premium Eventide reverbs such as Blackhole, Shimmer, Plate, Room, and Hall. Effects can be applied as Synth Effects and Master Bus Effects. Synth Effects are applied to individual timbral layers, while Master Bus Effects can be accessed via sends from all three synthesizers. Though its onboard effects are digital, the Moog One audio path is completely analog when all the effects are true bypassed.

Store tens of thousands of presets

Moog One has the capacity to store and recall tens of thousands of presets that you can easily categorize, edit, notate, and even share via USB drive. Up to 64 presets can be arbitrarily grouped to a Moog One Performance Set, where they are immediately selectable via the front-panel Bank/Preset button configuration — a vital feature for live performances and session work.

Performance Sets
Presets can be shared with an unlimited number of Performance Sets, allowing quick access to desired presets for each live gig, studio date, and composing session. I see you're going for retro gear. I have some, so I understand.
Good Luck with your workarounds.... and, beware of the 'off timing' issues on those things.

I have just picked up an Emu Command Station that I want to use as my main sequencer, I have figured out ... and ... ..., but....how do I then go about recording to ...? anyone else using Reason in a similar way?
