The keyboard is supposed to be "quieter" now, but no word yet on "more reliable."
I guess the ports aren't coming back. I'll still take #donglelife over Windows any day, but I really wish we didn't have to make that choice.

Impressive specs, ridiculous price. Would probably never buy an Apple computer, although I'm a sucker for their iPad & an older iPhones (The new X is even more ridiculous than the Pro series).
This video has been doing the rounds about the performance of the new Mac Book Pro. Considering the price this seems completely unacceptable;

Looks like preliminary testing of the UPDATE shows a jump from an 11% to 20% speed increase from the previous MBP.
not enough for $1500 trade. Ill wait for the next one (design change).
Preliminary results from our 4K Premiere test:
2017 2.9GHz Core i7: 90 min
2018 Core i9 before patch: 80 min
2018 Core i9 after patch: 72 min
Also, very even clocks at or above base instead of spiky throttling.

I got the 2.6GHz 15" model. It's pretty great (first ever Mac or laptop), but just 5 mins in Reason or Logic and it's like your own personal lap top heater. Seems to run Reason pretty well though. The only real heavy duty plugin I have is iZotope Ozone Elements 7. Literally just loading 1 instance into a dead empty session completely maxes out the DSP load. So I'm not sure i'll be able to do any final mixes on the Macbook.
Not gonna hold my breath, but it would pretty cool if Propellerhead could integrate some basic functions into the touch bar like Logic.

Upgrade Ozone 8 to Standard (they have upgrade deals very often - just check your account) and then you can run it as a standalone application, which makes much more sense since you'd anyway put only one instance at the end of (or AS) your mastering chain.

overheating issues of MacBoo Pros for so many years makes me wonder Apple has lost their mind. you can get much better performance when the CPU are more actively cooled. PCs are now way way better performing because of this.
no thanks.
I'm running the newest version of Reason on a Dell E6520 laptop that came out in 2011. I paid $50 USD for this thing.

Cheers, I'll keep that in mind.
