Which Akai controller should I get

Hi guys,

Having trouble deciding between the Akai LP28


or the slightly larger Akai MPD218 - currently on sale at Amazon as well.


I do like the compactness of the Akai LP28.. but wondering if the build quality is any better in the PPD218

This will be used via USB and not wireless as I run PC.

I've read the pads on the LP28 can trigger twice sometimes in one hit. Anyone have experience with either of these?

Huh, the double triggering is something I experienced with my AKAI LPK25 and LPD8.

I find the LPD8 to be quite robust, withstanding beating. AKAI devices are quite massive, I give you that. It's built in a clever way.

I own the MPD218 and the doubletrigger thing happens from time to time. However, it seems to only light up a second pad and not actually play any notes. Can't be to sure because it never happend during recording.
