Apple REFUSED to Fix our iMac Pro
Get a windows machine, those are infinitely faster :/
Even the laptops get retarded benchmarks these days for producing.
Do not be afraid to spend more than 300 for one because those scale incredibly high after that point.

Very strange Apple does not create an Apple Pro type distribution/after sale/maintenance, with a Pro price. You can buy into the next iPhone forever, but as a pro you can't even have your pro machine fixed?
I don't think Apple wants in in the pro market anymore.

Yeah, sure... back to the BSOD. No thanks.

They wanted to pay for fixing the computer entirely but their money was rejected. A bit strange methinks. Maybe it's only for Apple Canuck Care, but fine for Apple US for the privilege?

Windows has been using linux kernels since windows 8 and linux is better than macos will ever be my dude.
There is no mac os that will rival a linux distro or rival windows program compatibility.
It will not do what windows does. It does not do what windows does as good as windows.
It has always been behind. Which is exactly why it was known to have less bugs and viruses back in the day.

Sorry. Wasn't questioning Linux.
But Windows, i haven't missed it. Ill trade Lambo Speed for Maybach Comforts.
About this Apple Care Thing. I see lots of weirdness on the internet.
But, since, iPad/Phone 1 and Aluminum MBPs, Ive never had a problem.
Apple Care.. new phone, new phone, fixed computer, ...
I just had my iP7's audio i/o changed for $80... and, it was a house call.
next week ill have to fix my iP4 screen (cracked it on the bed) for $80.
This video sounds terrific.

you're exaggerating...
"fixing the computer entirely" might have meant buying a new one.
if its more than electronics (housing), it might have been FUBAR.
Sometimes it be's like that. Who fixes a cracked open DVD player?
- Arggg!
I dropped my my ice cream!! Maybe the Ice Cream Man will give me a new one...

Weird story indeed. Never heard such a thing. I don't discredit their story, but the acting was pretty awful lol
I've only had good experiences. Apple repaired my MacBook Pro that was out of warranty and I didn't have Apple Care and they didn't charge me. That I'm sure was exceptional. But refusing to repair a new product altogether? That is pretty bizarre. There has got to be something else going on here. That is confusing.
What did they break aside from the screen?
Curious if I were to contact support and tell them I have a broken screen on an iMac Pro, what would they say...
Or maybe Apple now has a policy on user disassembly and what that means in terms of voiding warranty? As in something like once you've futzed around with it, they won't even touch it, perhaps?
Because I can say from experience, that once they fix anything on a computer, like they did for me, they extend the warranty for the entire computer including all other parts. What they give back to you from their repair facility is what they would deem as refurbished. My MacBook Pro after being fixed was under a 3 month warranty for everything.
The built-in soundcard then died. And under that new warranty, they replaced it free of charge. So my 2008 MacBook Pro was repaired twice for free, years after I bought it.

You don't have to bring food and fresh fruits at the feet of Apple every time someone on the Internet dare being mean and hurt the feelings of a company co created by a no more alive human. The video is not about the whole Mac, iMac, iPhone lines but specifically about that Mac Pro. The dude is not an apple hater. He loves his iPhone, and they own Macs for their business (reviewing hardware, etc). This product is not targeting people surfing Scumbook all day but professionals. You broke it? Tell your client not to bother bringing it back and tell them to buy a new one. This is not what happened according to the video.O1B wrote: ↑18 Apr 2018you're exaggerating...

I generally don't have a problem with Apple. I've never been able to afford a Mac sadly. I always opted for the cheaper PC counterpart. I do however have friends that have Mac's and have spent a lot of money on them. My good friend that builds computers and fixes just about everything, including Macs, iphones etc.. you name it he can fix it. He's built two computers for me alone from scratch. He says that Mac's are beautiful machines. Quite impressive and sleek. But nowadays, they make them in a way that it's almost impossible to upgrade them or get inside properly, they glue everything together as one component so you can't change things. They do this on purpose so you just go buy the newer version sooner rather then later. Still great machines, but they are very much about profit, not customization. I got very close to buying one on Craigslist a while back I always wonder what it would have been like. Coming from PC I always felt everything was so small on Mac. The icons..minimize, expand.. you can barely see. The physical keyboard just incredibly tiny and the mouse to long and not form fitting. Guess I'm just not used to the product. When I was getting into music production, I had thought that to do things professionally you needed a Mac. Things would just 'sound' better or be easier with a Mac. There would be no bugs or viruses like on windows. And to use a PC you[re not really professional or 'industry 'standard'. Perhaps 10 years ago that was the case. But not any more. I was watching one of Junkie XL's videos and he shows and describes his system. It's basically multiple PC's..we're talking serious power. I was a little surprised to see he wasn't using a Mac configuration. He also uses Cubase for his writing, makes sense seeing it's more the orchestral stuff. Are more people switching over to PC these days? are Mac's days as industry standard limited? Or will they reign supreme forever. I guess this is the case with video editing?
And, you. Anything positive to add - or, just MORE conspiracy theories and fear-mongering?
Mac Pro... ..? or iMac Pro? does MacBook Pro count? ...Lord.
or Apple Care and warranties/ fixes?... Nice try. See TITLE.
Did he say HOW he broke it? Did he list WHAT was broken? Water/wet involved?
Sometimes, you have to buy a new one. YES. Is that a really a hard concept for you?
That wasn't just 'a cracked screen'.
...You really should stay off of Scumbook.

Stick to that awful OS if you want to, because I am certain I'm not going to be running into your problems anytime soon on a windows machine.
I met a few programmers who swear by Mac Os (I guess because of that) so pick your poison.
If I wanted no issues period I'd just dualboot windows with Linux (cuz who's gonna spend time trying to infect a linux machine)

Instead of providing a host of fresh features, Microsoft has decided to fix a bunch of reliability issues through its new Windows 10 update. The latest move comes days after the anticipation of the next major Windows 10 update codenamed Redstone 4 that was internally due on April 10 and was..." Blah blah blah

Dear lord, another Mac vs PC thread…
Carry on with the standard tropes on both sides please, and don't even try to add anything new, useful, or accurate to the conversation!
But seriously, great work is done on both platforms, despite the gloom and doom from both sides. That's all that matters to me.
Now I have to get back to work, have lots to do on my crappy OS and devices...

You mean 'issues' like the latest Mac OS update? Have you checked the threads here? they're all dedicated to Mac my friend. With the latest update being completely unusable. I'd say that would be a machine that is as you say 'infected'. Go ahead and update and enjoy. I updated my windows 10 the other night. It seems exactly the same, go figure. It's been like that since Ver 5 running windows. I'd say that's a solid track record. I've picked my poison.Oquasec wrote: ↑19 Apr 2018Stick to that awful OS if you want to, because I am certain I'm not going to be running into your problems anytime soon on a windows machine.
