Hey everyone! So I kinda touched on this in another unrelated thread but I figured I'd get some opinions here. So I currently have a 500GB SSD (64GB reserved for OS/apps and the rest for libraries), and a 1TB data drive which currently houses a handful of non-speed-essential samples. My question is how suitable would an SD card be to give myself a quick and easy 256 or 512GB of extra storage? I realise the price to capacity ratio is a bit off versus an SSD but given that my only other option is to whip out the optical drive in my laptop and replace it with a caddy...maybe it's a solution? Anyone else doing this? Any potential problems? Thanks!

In an older article here the conclusion seems to be that SD cards are much slower than SSD drives: https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=1174111
I have replaced my optical drive with a second SSD in my MacBook Pro and use that for my library... Works without a hitch!
My SD card slot on the other hand always feels slow...

Hope that helps.

D.
