We just released a new version of rsTouch (2.8.0). This release was mostly about “behind the scenes” improvements but it also includes a number of new REs, a few VSTs, plus some improvements to other RE and Reason device panels. This brings the device support count to over 120.

New REs:
  • Propellerhead: A-List Acoustic Guitarist Fingerpicking Nylon
  • Blamsoft: Zero Hybrid
  • Mathieu Demange: RYM2612
  • AirRaid Audio: Elements DS-LFO and Elements Splitter 2.
Added VSTs:
  • Rob Papen: RP-Verb
  • AudioRealism: ABL2, ABL3, and ReDominator
Improved REs
  • Rob Papen: PreditorRE panel updated to incorporate changes made to the RE
  • Synapse Audio: Antidote panel updated to the latest version of the RE
The Combinator panel was updated to include a “sample loading” indicator. The External MIDI Instrument panel was completely redone so that it now fully supports all sixteen MIDI channels, with the active channel controlled from the panel. You can also set the CC Assign, and there is a handy MIDI activity LED. If you use the EMI for controller your external gear be sure and check it out.

This update also includes a new, optional way to navigate through presets from device panels that supplements the "preset next" and "preset previous" buttons. You can use an up/down touch-drag gesture within the preset display to scroll through the current preset list. This is useful to quickly move through a long list, then use the up and down arrow buttons once you are close. Be aware though that presets on some devices may load slowly so you might experience a noticeable delay between.

Code performance optimizations were implemented, including improved Device UI panel memory management. All iPads should benefit from the improved memory management, but especially older devices with less RAM. Some general bugs were also addressed.

We also made some changes to the “generic device” system that necessitates minor edits to generic device maps. If you are using any of those (most people are not) please contact us at our support email address for additional information.

This release requires new Reason support files (codec and maps) that must be installed. The most recent rsTouch support files are available from http://www.delora.com/distribution/rsto ... _codec.php. Download the installer to your Mac or PC, quit Reason (if it is running), then run the installer. If you do not update the support files on your computer then rsTouch will show an error.

rsTouch Pro offers full control of Reason’s Mixer and transport functions. Record and mix songs, and make sound setting and level adjustments easily with large, multi-touch, color-coded rotaries and faders.  Edit send effects, insert parameters, and EQ settings, as well as adjust channel, pan and dynamics levels.  A dedicated Master screen allows full adjustments of Reason's Main Mixer Master section.  The Device page provides a gateway to controlling over 120 Reason instruments, effects, and Rack Extensions offering customized screens optimized for iPad use. A Performance page provides convenient keyboard, drum pad layouts, and 8 x 8 pad grid to play and record Reason synths and drum machines, or a page of freely assignable fader, rotaries, and buttons that can be used to provide additional customized hands-on control.

Long shot but any chance of Grid64G support? Would be pretty damn cool!

Thanks for the suggestion. I've added it to our list of requested REs.

Out of curiosity, have you tried ReDrum's sequencer as a possible substitute gate sequencer? It's step sequencer is well integrated with rsTouch since PH updated ReDrum (Reason 8.32 IIR). Of course it is limited to 10 tracks but using two (for example to drive Kong) is not a bad work around.
