27" monitor for Reason

I'd like to upgrade my 24" monitor to a nice 27" for use (mainly) with Reason, some other software & general. Not sure if it's best to stick with a 1920 x 1080 resolution for this use or look at (higher priced) 2560 x 1440 models. I'd imagine things may look a bit on the small side with the higher resolution, although the extra screen real estate would be great. Any thoughts? Anyone use a 2560 x 1440 monitor with Reason?

I'm not sure about the resolution you should take (things may be a little bit small indeed), but I have a 16/10 monitor (1920*1200) and it really makes a difference compared to 16/9 (1920*1080).

32"@1440p here, and couldn't be happier.
I've tried different options in the past, including 40"@4K, 21", 23", 27", dual monitor @1080p, but I prefer this setup much more because it's a good compromise between UI size, real estate and size of the screen itself (roughly the same width as my 4 octaves midi controller).

I had a 27" for the longest time and was fine with it, upgrading to 32" blew it away, see the sceeen shot above. If you can manage it, I highly recommend checking one out.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like a 32" (2560x1440) is a great option. MWave here in Australia have a Viewsonic model for just $399! Seems cheap for a 32" monitor. I'll need to check out some reviews but looks like a possible option. I've been looking at 27" monitors for around the same price.

I prefer dual 24" monitors. You can have the whole rack or mixer on it's own monitor.

I thought about this a lot. Makes a lot of sense for Reason. I have a dual monitor set-up in my workplace. But it takes up a shit load of desk space with x2 24" displays. I also think outside of using Reason a dual monitor set-up doesn't make a huge amount of sense for me. A larger, single display seems like the way forward. Just deciding on size / resolution. I'm definitely now thinking a 32" (2560x1440) seems like a very strong candidate for my next monitor. Especially that Viewsonic one for $399 (Aus).

Well, I hate to say it, but I tried a "32" and it was, awful. Then again, it wasn't a really really expensive one. Two 24's might be cool, but not for my old eyes.

My LG was the best ever. Unfortunately, the base plate was the worst ever. Cracked in half, and the monitor came down with a crash, ruining it completely.

This one is an HP (kinda low-rentish) and it's not as sharp by any stretch of the imagination, but 27" is as small as my eyes can go. At least it puts out nearly zero heat (it's barely warm to the touch, my other was HOT)

Took the plunge on the 32" Viewsonic monitor I linked to earlier. Couldn't be happier for $399. It looks sweet and can get 3 racks wide, with the browser open, in Reason 9.5. Very, very pleased with this. A significant step up from my 24" monitor in all respects. It comes with a white HMDI cable to match the monitor colour. A bit of a strange choice of cable as HMDI appears not to be able to handle above 1920x1080 resolution! I switched to a display port cable, rebooted and got the full 2560x1440 straight away. Everything is nice and sharp, the colours are really nice and everything I've tried looks really good on it. The extra screen real estate is fantastic and things (for me) are not too small. Smaller than on my 24" 1920x1080 monitor and I'd say some of the devices in Reason are going to be a little fiddly. But the same was true on the 24" display really. Really pleased I went for the 2K option & not just a larger 1920x1080 display. That would have been a mistake.
