Disable automatic hard drive sleep?

Hey guys! Got a Hitachi 1TB external HDD that I keep some sample libraries on. And it keeps shutting down even though I've disabled HDD sleep in my Win10 power options. Anyone know how to stop this from happening? I've also gotta do some video recording and it's gonna mess it up if everything takes ages while my external spins up!! Thank you!

Did you do this under Power Options (Advanced)?

"Under USB settings set USB selective suspend setting to: Disabled."

If you have explored all possible system settings and it still goes to sleep, you might want to try this:

It creates a dummy file on the hard disk at user-defined intervals.
