Controlling (start/stop) a Roland VS-2480

Want to talk about music hardware or software that doesn't include Reason?

Hi, all..

We are putting together a system using Reason, a few outboard synths, and a VS-2480 to capture audio..

One thing I would like to do is use Reason to start the vs-2480 recording when we hit play on Reason. Reason would send midi out to everyone, and the vs-2480 would capture all of the audio.

It looks as if the vs-2480 can only be controlled via MTC. It also looks like Reason cannot send MTC, only midi clock.

Can anyone verify if this can be done?

Thanks!

The VS-2480 can send midi clock as a master so you can sync Reason as the slave. https://www.rolandus.com/support/knowle ... /201941389

It should. You'd effectively be controlling Reason (the transport at least) from the VS-2480

This can definitely be done. I sync Reason to a Akai DPS 24
And a MPC4000. All running simultaneously. Using your imagination a lot
Can be done with Reason. Reason 9.5 is the icing on the cake.
