Can anyone set up their iPhone with the new AC Sabre $5 app to run Reason synths in an iMac or other computer. This old dude needs to know.

Not familiar with this app - but it looks like this app runs wireless wifi or bluetooth.
I've always had trouble with reliability when using wireless between ios and mac - however:
1- make sure your Network session is enabled on the mac through Audio/MIDI Setup. And that you iPhone is selected and connected.
2- Network Session OUT is enabled on your iOS app
3- In Reason, Preferences >> Control Surfaces >> Double click on iPhone and make sure MIDI Input "Network Session" is enabled.

(I hated using wireless and now use the MusicIO app. I just connect a cable between iDevice to mac. It's just so much easier)

Good luck. :)

Hey Strat, thanks a million! My iPhone is now a new midi controller for Reason, using all the features of Sabre. I'm playing a grand/strings patch in Parsec with Scales & Chords set on a similar mode as in Sabre. I can play the Sabre and the Akai MPK88 at the same time

Sounds cool - glad you're all set up and rocking! :)
iDevices make GREAT controllers and there are some cool apps to take advantage of them.
How are you finding the latency? I do notice a difference between WIFI and just plugging direct and using cable - though, it's pretty slight and depends on what I'm playing.

Haven't noticed a problem with the latency, but I've been using it to write improvisational pieces, like this one (bass, bells, and violin), which tend to be imprecise timing-wise. Here's one named Harry's Dance after the Sabre inventor Harry (actually Hari Karam Singh of Air Craft from London - notice how the woman with an iPhone is thinking "how the f^#k can I do that?):

Hey Strat, did this piece to see about latency. Checked the MIDI notes on the sequencer grid with lines at 1/16 and the latency is really good. Notes came out exactly on the lines when I played on beat, even the 1/32 notes. By the way, the 8 petals for playing outside the center include the one at 7:30 that adds a 5th to the note, and the petal at 4:30 adds another harmony. These are great for playing bass because bass players tend to add two-note chords all the time.

@jfrichards If you end up with latency use http://www.s-r-n.de/midile/

You'll have something like 2-3 ms + the 50 up of your iphone screen. Using this setup with Lemur
:PUF_figure: latest :reason: V12 on MacOS Ventura
