Giving a bump to this. Just saw a short NAMM video about it's release in March. Looks awesome though! ore intriguing than a seaboard imho from what I can tell.

Oh cool! I liked the Joué diversity of musical overlays a bit better. Sensel seems like the more invested company whereas Joué was orig a kickstarter project I believe.

Either way looks like a cool new music tech toy. Would be super awesome if the sensor pad was durable enough to be hit at least moderately with real drum sticks.

Any knowledge of Reason integration with these?

Holy shit JL that thing is 100% me. I want to sleep on it as I know how I am with impulse buying.

Now quit posting stuff, I'm gonna go broke!

Haha I would definitely consider it for myself, but I'm pretty happy with the Roli Seaboard Block right now :)
It doesn't have the interchangeability, but has all the wonderful expression I need in a very portable package. It does have the cool modular block connectivity, which I may explore at some point.

I'm curious what other overlays they may come out with for both the Sensel Morph and the JOUÉ.

I think they were both kickstarters.
I would think you could use drum sticks with them? But you might not get a desirable physical response?

Of course this is a different concept, but have you seen the Keith McMillen BopPad?

Hadn't! Very cool as well and was looking for something like this to hammer grooves on but somehow didn't come across it. Many thanks!

I'm sure the sense pad devices would get the desired physical response for a minute with very hard hits, I just think the simple aspect of them not being designed for harder hits from wooden sticks wouldn't make that last long. They seem to be designed to be very sensitive for only our squishy fingers. Whereas Bop is designed for both but prob isn't nearly as precise in the sensitive ranges as the former devices. Just guessing, don't have them in front of me.

The Roli was on my radar however I was kinda hoping to see additional inspiring stuff this year. I will most likely build my own templates but might have to go with a couple preset ones initially till I figure things out.

Off the top of my head, an x/y pad with 10 or so instrument buttons that enable or disable sounds layered on the pad, attack based on pressure, minor pitch adjustment on the instrument button as well. Call it the Pad pad! Quite exciting, I enjoy making pads to background the piano/voice.

This prototype described above exists as a release just in your head though for the moment ya? It'd be great, and it seems the underlaying pad itself (without a rubber module) could be used for your purposes. I'm sure the use case is not only possible but being designed or on the back burner of R&D as these platforms mature, it does seem like the most software intensive. Very exciting - future is now - kind of stuff!

Yes it was the first thing I thought of when I watched the video, I'm always looking for ways to make pads as its about the only thing I do outside of Piano/Vocals, and I have quite a few templates I could use in Reason right away (assuming I'd come to grips with this Sensel quickly enough)

This is the one I was immediately drawn to:
https://sensel.com/collections/overlays ... rs-overlay

Here's the purchasable ones:

Those are good to spawn ideas, I'm always trying to get outside the matrix and this could be right up my alley.

Sensel was also crowd funded

I posted that question on their forum. 1. to get the answer. 2. to gauge the developers and users. We'll see..
