improve fader refresh rate?

hi, i managed to get my digidesign command 8 talking to reason!

i have one question tho,
the faders respond very smoothly to automation ie they move smoothly when being fed data from reason.
But when i record some automation with a fader occasionally i'll get jumps, sometimes it'll be a smooth line, other times it jumps from say 0 to 20, is there any way to improve this?

In the settings under "General", theres a "cleanup automation" setting, maybe thats it. Note I am translating my german Reason here, might be named slightly different.
