I've had an Aura for the last couple of years and TBH it's a great piece of equipment but you won't be able to get much out of it as far as functionality except for with the drum machines and even that isn't much. I also have one of their keyboards and combined they are great. But outside of a transport and note trigger there wasn't much room left for a customizable remote map.PitW. wrote: ↑01 Oct 2021Hello everybody!
As a long time lurker, I allow myself this question.
Does anyone know if the Nektar Panorama Remotemaps presented here can be remodeled for use with Nektar Aura?
I bought this when it came out with the intention of using it as a "P1 with pads", but it seems Nektar sees Aura as a completely different device without deep Reason integration (ofc you can use Nektarine, but not for internal devices or Rack extensions).
Does anyone know if this can be done?

I haven't tried the P1 but if it's anything like the Keyboards then I think it should be good. I actually prefer the keyboards because I get the functionality of the mixer along with the keys. I wanted a P1 but couldn't justify the costs for just transports and faders since I technically already had that. What I've been using for about a year now and I'm loving is the Presonus Atom SQ. I found it to be way more flexible as far as remote maps when I was trying to set some up. The biggest hassle is assigning parameters via CC signals and different channels. But with some planning you can get as deep as you want with it. I'm still trying to crack the Remote Map code with it but had to take some time away from that. Since getting the Atom SQ my Aura and Panorama T6 have stayed in the box honestly. I bring them out to update the software every now and then but still don't use it much. Now I'm trying to learn S1 since it integrates so well with it. But if someone could make the perfect Remote Map for it I don't think you'd need anything else for a small/mobile studio when you don't need full keys.

The P1 is just like the P4 or P6 but with out the keys and the motorised fader (which I unplugged several years ago on my P4, never use it)..Chi-Individual wrote: ↑01 Oct 2021I haven't tried the P1 but if it's anything like the Keyboards then I think it should be good. My current setup is the still the P1 and the T6, I use the P1 for controlling, it's there next to me, reach to it all the time, great piece of kit (I also own a LX61+ and a P4, I have so many for the mappings I use to do)...

When I get chance I will do a grab map for it, best way forward with all the different configurations there will be...
You will not have a proper order of all elements, but if you have listed more rotaries and buttons (instead 4 of each) in the remotemap, you can at least control these, if there are used. Or will nektar-remote give an error back, if you have more items listed then actually exists on a cmb2, I dont think so?!
For my BCR2000 it works this way, adding a control to cmb2 results in one more rotary activated and mapped on the BCR.

FYI: I've updated the P and T series mappings with a combinator mapping HOWEVER, not sure if there are issues with Reason 12 or the Combinator 2, the mapping works but it's not 100% right, I like to do my mappings that you can select the Upper encoders(P series) and faders and normal encoders separately, you can flip over to the fader and upper encoder and select a different page but you have to flip back to the knobs for the changes to take effect..
Now I have merged the way I do full maps with grab maps so you can grab the order of the controls if you need to (I added to custom pages for this purpose).
A friktion mapping has been added to the T and P as well.
Note the dates in the doc are old as FB just goes mad and does not allow me to update from time to time(in a few months time I will be able to edit it again).

Thank you! Can’t wait to try it out. FB outage couldn’t have come at a worse time. I normally could care less if that site is up or down, but the one time I need something from it, it’s down. Hey guys,
I am currently working on a project and I could not work with the mapping of the Combinator 2 and I had to switch to the original mapping file. However the default mapping supports only 4 knobs and 4 switches, which is not enough. So I attempted to map at least another 4 buttons and 4 switches and I was successful, however had to sacrifice ByPassFx Hold and Run pattern, which for me was not a biggy.
I tried to avoid including more pagination as I wanted the interface to be as responsive as possible, and for my project it is enough.
Here is the mapping below.
I hope you find this useful.
Cheers
Noel

FYI I fully mapped out the combinator (32 controls and 32 buttons) in my last release of my mappings, it works for all combinators (including the old ones)..nscerri wrote: ↑11 Jan 2022Hey guys,

Yes I tried using your mapping however it is not working properly on my P6 in such a way I had to revert back to the original.
One example is that the buttons under the sliders, in order to work I have to press twice to set them off and only once to set the respective button on
Not sure if anyone is having the same issue.
I have the latest firmware version, and using latest Reason 12.
If you can help me, I would definitely prefer your mapping.
Thanks
Noel

You are correct about the buttons, in my case twice for on and once for off..nscerri wrote: ↑11 Jan 2022

It's a hybrid mapping hence I left page 5 and 6 free for grabbing.. I have not tried a straight normal mapping, I will have a think about this one.

Grab mappings have to start with an underscore in the device name for them to be a grab map e.g.Eddi-16 wrote: ↑12 Jan 2022Thanks for your work!Carly(Poohbear) wrote: ↑12 Jan 2022

Question: You can grab parameters from native devices? On empty pages? Really? Can you do this with different devices? So lets say. Knob 1-4 RV7000 Reverb, Knob 5-6 Delay and 7-8 chorus?
How can you grab parameters? As far as I know, every device is fully mapped, so how I can use that grab thing if every page is always full?
Code: Select all
Map Device Name "_ModSelsor" HOME
You can NOT grab between devices, you can use remote overrides between devices and these too are per page on the Nektar's...

No, you don't need Nektarine..Eddi-16 wrote: ↑12 Jan 2022Thanks!
2 questions:
1. Do I need to install this "Nektarine" for grabbin'?
2. e.g. for the unision, can you modifiy my text, please, so that there is an extra grab page? I dont understand where to insert your snippet above...
Scope Propellerheads UN-16 Unison
Define Group Mode Instrument Mixer Transport Channel
// Control Surface Item Key Remotable Item Scale Mode
Map Mixer Mode Mode=Mixer
Map Instrument Mode Mode=Instrument
Map Transport Mode Mode=Transport
Map Channel Mode Mode=Channel

Map Ch Knob 3 0 Instrument
Map Ch Knob 4 0 Instrument
Map Ch Knob 5 Voice Count VALUE Instrument
Map Ch Knob 6 0 Instrument
Map Ch Knob 7 0 Instrument
Map Ch Knob 8 0 Instrument
This turns the mapping into grab mapping however this is not the end of it..
Code: Select all
Map Device Name "_UN-16" INST
Map Ch Knob 1 Detune Instrument
Map Ch Knob 2 Dry/Wet Instrument
Map Ch Knob 5 Voice Count VALUE Instrument
and replaced with
Map Ctrl 1 Detune
Map Ctrl 2 Dry/Wet
Map Ctrl 3 Voice Count
Map Ch Knob 1 1 Instrument
Map Ch Knob 2 2 Instrument
Map Ch Knob 5 3 VALUE Instrument
That's now a grab.. however it's only one page, for more than one page you need to setup the scopes.
e.g. define the scope
Define Group ch_Mode ch_zpage1 ch_zpage2
// you need a way to change the scope

Map X3_Labeli "Page2>" Menu_esc Instrument ch_zpage1

//use the scopes

I did not understand your statement could you rephrase it.Eddi-16 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2022Thank you very much!
One really last question:
When I start Reason and have a couple of devices, I can't deselect all, that on the P1 I have noc device selected and can now start to assign different parameters to the knobs of different devices.
What can I do to make this happen? Is there a way to have a "blank page" in the P1 somehow?
Ref a "Blank Page", yes you can, assign a zero as the remote name.
e.g. this is page 5 from the combinator mapping
Map Ch Knob 1 0 Name Instrument ch_zpage5
Map Ch Knob 2 0 Name Instrument ch_zpage5
Map Ch Knob 3 0 Name Instrument ch_zpage5
Map Ch Knob 4 0 Name Instrument ch_zpage5
Map Ch Knob 5 0 Name Instrument ch_zpage5
Map Ch Knob 6 0 Name Instrument ch_zpage5
Map Ch Knob 7 0 Name Instrument ch_zpage5
Map Ch Knob 8 0 Name Instrument ch_zpage5
Thanks that would be super!Carly(Poohbear) wrote: ↑12 Jan 2022You are correct about the buttons, in my case twice for on and once for off..nscerri wrote: ↑11 Jan 2022
