In all innocence, can we use the P1 file for the Panorama P4 or P6 ?
No because the header information is different, the contents between the Panorama.remotemap and PanoramaP1.remotemap is more or less the same.
the Panorama.remotemap is for the P4 and P6.

Should work but there is no Mod or pitch wheel on the P1 so anything that can be mapped to it will not be in that mapping. Easy to edit that into maps though!
It is not too much of an ask for people or things to be the best version of itself!

It won't work due to the header, it has a different Control Surface Model you could try and change that and in theory it should work but then why would do that when there is a file already ready to go for the P4 and P6?

This pains me, as I'm about to install Omnisphere 2 and looked forward to toying around with it on my P4. If Nektar hasn't released a map for it yet - and it's been out over 2 years - I suspect they had issues on the VST side.

Hell yes I do! As soon as I get up and running with Omnisphere 2, I'll get started (unless the other guys beat me to it).

I don't think this one can be mapped, I created a mapping to work with the grab functionality. You are limited to about 500 controls.
However You have to enable the control manually in Omnisphere then you can grab it, Hmmm.

Found this note.
All Host Automation assignments are stored with the Multi, saved with the host project file, and can also be saved with a MIDI Learn Template.

NOTE: You can enable up to 256 Host Automation parameters. If you need more than 256 assignments, consider using MIDI Learn together with Host Automation.

Technical Considerations

There are 256 parameter slots in Omnisphere that can be automated, numbered from 0 to 256. These slots correspond to the list of parameters that can be automated in the host or on your control surface. For example, slot 0 is the first parameter in the host or on the control surface, the next one is number 1, etc. You can assign any parameter in Omnisphere to one of these slots using "Enable Host Automation". The parameter will be assigned to the next available slot and may then be automated from the host or control surface. Automation ID numbers correspond to the ordered list of parameters that can be automated in the host or on a control surface.

Parameter automation is capable of two-way communication. If your host and control surface support it, your control surface can display the names of the parameters controlled by each knob or fader, and each control can automatically update to show the current value of a parameter. For example, Mackie Control displays and automatically updates parameter names in real time. Motorized faders can move to show the current values of parameters, which is very useful when opening songs that contain plug-ins controlled by the surface.

Some hosts have a limit on the number of parameters that are available to be Host Automated. For example, some only permit the first 128 parameters of a plug-in to be automated. In others, the limit is 1024 parameters. By comparison, Omnisphere has nearly 20,000 parameters!

If you're working in a host that limits the number of automation parameters, you can also use the MIDI Learn feature of Omnisphere to automate Omnisphere's parameters. The combination of Host Automation and MIDI Learn gives you powerful real-time control of virtually every parameter of Omnisphere.

First off, Carly, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all the hard work and effort you regularly put into this.

Just tried to update my P6 (replacing only the "Panorama.remotemap" file from your link) and the keyboard section no longer works. It returns this error:

Failed to load control surface: Nektar, Panorama.
Map File Errors:
Line 105508: Map entry with unknown control surface item.
Line 112484: Map entry with unknown control surface item.
Line 112754: Map entry with unknown control surface item.
Line 112894: Map entry with unknown control surface item.
Line 113078: Map entry with unknown control surface item.
...

And on and on, many many errors. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance for any help.

the line with the issues look like
Map Plugin View Proxy Open Plugin Window Instrument

when was the last time you ran the install from Nektar?
I would do that then copy over our maps, I would say your codec is out of date..

I'll try this as soon as I can. I was trying to sneak in some creative time, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back to it, but thanks for the pointer!

FYI what this line "Map Plugin View Proxy Open Plugin Window Instrument" does for VST's is with focus, Shift + View on the Nektar will open and close the VST window.

Hi guys,

Are you interested in mapping the Analog Lab 3 VST ? I've started working on it last week, and I've managed to do some basic mappings with a menu. It's still a draft, feel free to suggest improvements!

Edit : Yeah, much better with the code tag :)

Edit 2 (29/12/2017): Updated version of the mappings (menu with much more params to tweak). Still some work to do on the faders in the "Multi (faders)" section. Try it and tell me what you think!

You should edit the post there to include the code tags[ code] [/ code] not putting them into the tags gets rid of the format so all the white spaces will be gone.
It is not too much of an ask for people or things to be the best version of itself!

Hi guys,

I'm working on mapping some Arturia's V Collection 6 VSTs to be able to use my P6 midi keyboard to edit sounds. But I found it rather complicated, since there is no real documentation on the subject.

For example, with my mapping, I get the following on my P6 screen :
Osc. Wave : 21.84% <-- this ratio doesn't mean anything!
I'd like the display to be like :
Osc. Wave : Sine <-- this is what I want!!

Do you know a way to achieve that ?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Edit: I've defined a group like so:

Code: Select all

Define Group	Osc1WaveForm	Osc1_Square	Osc1_Sawtooth	Osc1_Triangle	Osc1_Sine
How can I use that in the remotemap file? I've tried using the Modifier1 in a Ch. Knob line, but without any success.

Its my understanding that you use groups after you set up the control but use them to duplicate a knob or button function. Basically you would be telling a button to do this when this is pressed again.

e.g.

Code: Select all

Define Group Osc1WaveForm	Osc1_Square	Osc1_Sawtooth	Osc1_Triangle	Osc1_Sine

Map	Page Name "Square" Instrument	Osc1_Square
Map	Page Name "Saw" Instrument	Osc1_Sawtooth
Map	Page Name "Tri" Instrument	Osc1_Triangle
Map	Page Name "Sine" Instrument	Osc1_Sine
Map	X4_Labeli "Square" Instrument	Osc1_Square
Map	X4_Labeli "Saw" Instrument	Osc1_Sawtooth
Map	X4_Labeli "Tri" Instrument	Osc1_Triangle
Map	X4_Labeli "Saw" Instrument	Osc1_Sine
Map	X4_ch Osc1WaveForm=Osc1_Square TOGGLE_ON	Instrument	Osc1_Square
Map	X4_ch Osc1WaveForm=Osc1_Sawtooth TOGGLE_ON	Instrument	Osc1_Sawtooth
Map	X4_ch Osc1WaveForm=Osc1_Triangle TOGGLE_ON	Instrument	Osc1_Triangle
Map	X4_ch Osc1WaveForm=Osc1_Sine TOGGLE_ON	Instrument	Osc1_Sine
Something to that effect have a look at the way other maps are to find the best way to do it.
It is not too much of an ask for people or things to be the best version of itself!

Thanks for your help but it's not what I had in mind.

Let me explain. I don't want to have different pages displaying different info. I want to be able to change the displayed value of a parameter, not its label. For example, instead of having on my P6 screen a meaningless 25.18%, I'd like to have something like Sawtooth or Sqr. The Korg PolySix RE is a good example of the display I'd like to have (for the parameter oscillator waveform). But reading the remotemap doesn't help. Maybe this info is retrieved from the RE/VST ?

Edit: In the remotemap, I only found the following (as for my VCO Wave form) :

Code: Select all

Map	Page Name "VCO" Instrument	VCO
Map	Name Element 2 "Waveform" Instrument	ch_VCO
Map	Ch Knob 2 VCO WAVE FORM NAME	Instrument	ch_VCO
On the P6 display, I get 3 values for the Waveform param: Saw, PW and PWM.

It comes down to what is being returned from Reason, VST seam to return % and being a percentage you have covered your bases as it will be no different if the parameter had 2 options or 200 options.
