No, I didn't say anything about that. Obviously they stole it, like so many other hits they had. But coming out of the closet more than 40 years later already makes the whole thing kind of moot. I don't think this is a particularly good example for anything because of these two points. Hence /yawn.

Personally I don't think having written some music 40 years ago makes you eligible for any kind of money anymore as the music probably became more of a property of the people who listened to it than those who wrote it - but that is a personal opinion and has nothing to do with copyright.
