The stream as ya ken, is nay streamin nay mare, but ye ken still see it all over again if ye click on the play button ;) I don't have Bitwig studio either, maybe pick it up the future if there is a killer sale though.

I will defo be picking up the upgrade for Studio One 3 though in the next day or so :)

Oh here comes more on that combinator thingwe jib :) ,

Haha, why do Americans pronounce Scott in such a weird way lol, 'Scaatt!' with having that name myself, it never fails to amuse.

Well this is the Hardware and Other software subforum. But as of relevance to Reason: well it has Rewire which makes it compatible with Reason. Seems relevant enough to me.  ;)

You know it's going to be mind blowing :)

Haven't seen a RE from them in a bit... Either we have an awesome Propellerhead RE on the horizon, or they've just shut themselves in to focus on Reason 9. Not that working on things aside from Reason would mean they weren't focused on Reason 9, but just sayin'...

Please don't ban me for saying this, but it has everything to do with reason.

first, V3 has rewire, which means integration, which means relevance.

second, this is the kitchen :) IMHO, it's not out of the ordinary to discuss other hosts. It's no threat to Reason. It's something else to talk about.

I haven't tried to rewire it yet guys, so more on that in the next 30 days, but on it's own, it's a nice upgrade so far. I've had S1 since......forever. The CPU still sucks, but for mixing, there are many nice features.

As I learn it, hopefully (mods willing) I'll be able to give you into. It's no reason killer  but again, it's a nice upgrade.

The thread was started in the general forum (provokingly so, as he did it intentionally, as explained in the first post), where it didn't belong. I have a hard time believing he didn't do it for attention. He's a troll, which he has proven time and time again, in the puf and he's starting here as well. If I were Lunesis I'd be pissed off as well.
Cheers!

I think propellerhead will release a new 8.3 or 8.5 update when the beta of the sdk 2.2 is finished.
I guess they are preparing a new RE to showcase the new features of the sdk, which hopefully will be includet in the update. It was the same in the past with sincrounus.

I don't know if anyone knows this for sure, R8 sure wasn't mind blowing (as an upgrade from 7). Good to see infallible optimists as yourself though.

I am not the one who reported it but I think we need to put things where they should be so nice one .
anyway I think presonus is a cool company and there team is just amazing but Studio one did not make me having any fluid go on it so fare ,
I kind of tryed a few time and the Learning curve pissed me off so I whent back to Reason and use Cubase if I really need a vst wich I never do .
It does not die , it multiplies !

7.101 and I will upgrade maybe this summer .

Now that people have had a play for a while, some notes about what isn't working quite right yet:

-people (including me) are reporting hanging on close. It's not been pinned down yet.
-scratch pad is causing issues (particularly for RME users)
-"Q" for audio is a NASTY insta crash (effects whole system)
-some resizing issues (like reopening a project) is not what you had last time opened.
-some "stuck" notes under certain circumstances.
-and of course, as usual, people complaining in various forms over the CPU. (it's been forever)

Other than the "Q" audio quantizing (serious SERIOUS bug) it's been fine mostly so far for me. Mostly I can just use it. I'm going to send in a report about the closing issues and the "Q" issue because they are a steady problem.

Oh, and in case I didn't mention, Nektar is QUITE aware that it's not showing up their controllers....if you contact them they will get you straightened out temporarily (kick-ass company :)

No matter what, I won't buy S1-3 until after the first or second update. And by that time Reason 9 may be out. Who knows? I'm not happy with Studio's CPU usage.

I will continue with Reason and Reaper for now.

Are you on Mac, because I tried to crash it using the Q- quantising options/button's and it's working perfectly fine here. Maybe you have Q, mapped to another application on your system. I'm on an Intel I7 920 quadcore at 3.36 Ghz, Windows 7 platform btw. If anyone is still using a dualcore they really need to optimise their setting's in the preferences and/or audio card. Use 32bit precision if it helps, and increase the latency time. Studio One uses Hyperthreading (Reason doesn't) so if you have it, you still need one core free for the graphics and operating system so the system is better able to cope with demanding tracks. Tick all boxes when it comes to exporting tracks however as it will save minute/s off the time.

This is a shot in the dark, but it might be related to quicktime, it's the first thing that pops up in the search bar on windows task bar when you press Q, so check if you have the latest version and look at any settings related to it regarding keys.

Alternately check if you have any keys mapped to any functions, which you might have if using a more advanced gaming keyboard, or else try a different keyboard, it might just be a dodgy key.

I thought that might be it, but just had another doozy of a crash using the toolbar.

Honestly, at this point, I no longer care. The forum is SO BAD and people are so dingy, I just don't care anymore.

Reason is by far the most stable, best for making music host. I'll just stick with that :)

Quite an in depth overview of general features in SO3 that is worth checking out especially if you're coming from a mixing and mastering angle.

There wasn't any changes to Impact, however you can connect the arpeggiator to Impact for more creative possibilities which is rather cool. :)
