Hello all,
after a few years 'out of the box', i'd like a simple setup to get back IN the (Reason-)box
I have Reason 13 and also a Dreadbox Typhon synthesizer.
looking for an audio interface that let's me record the Typhon in Reason but also a microphone, as i'll probably get the BV-X vocoder at some point in the future.
Also what MIDI-keyboard do people use these days that has somewhat good integration in Reason? (many keys is not a requirement).
Thx in advance, and curious what suggestions pop up !
Audio Interface & MIDI-keyboard suggestions 2024
In my experience, the optimal solution (with a Rode NT1 microphone) is the Focusrite Scarlett Solo. At least it's a good bang for the buck for starters. However, I use it for recording only.
(I tested the other parts, which are pretty good, too, but I have a better DAC and HP Amp.)

You need stereo, or MIDI? Then Motu M2 perhaps. But check audio specs and compare on audiosciencereview.com.Emian wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024yes, but i won't be able to record the Typhon with a Scarlett Solo i believe....RobC wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024In my experience, the optimal solution (with a Rode NT1 microphone) is the Focusrite Scarlett Solo. Typhon is stereo output. an audio-interface with MIDI-out is a plus!
There is the Motu M4 in that case.
(Btw, I use Topping E30 II as a premium DAC, and L30 II, which is supposedly the world's best headphone amp.)

I got the Arturia Minifuse 4. Two headphone sockets for silent collab without the neighbours bugging us.
I hope that helps.
I hope that helps.
i got the Arturia Minilab 3 keyboard, didn´t get an audio interface yet; bus seriously eyeballing the SSL S2+ or even the S12...
I was looking at big brands' entry level products, too, but I read on forums that we mostly pay for the brand name and the quality won't be as good as their flagship products'. That said I didn't find any independent, professional measurements of those devices in particular so I can't judge them.
hey thx for the recommendation!Reminiscence wrote: ↑06 Sep 2024I got the Arturia Minifuse 4. Two headphone sockets for silent collab without the neighbours bugging us.

The Minifuse 2 actually looks like just what i need for a reasonable price, decently build ( as is their minilab 3 keyboard that i got) and includes some interresting plugins on top!
probably gonna get one of those !
