Finding the muse

Morning all
Just curious regarding the muse.

Have you found when you have say a day off work no one in the house and you are free to play all day then the stuff you produce is never that inspired - your keyboard skills are crap and every synth you pull up sounds awful - then on the days when you have a spare 1/2 hour before dashing off or that time before going to bed when you say ‘I’ll be up shortly’ suddenly every key stroke every pattern comes from the ether and you write quickly a lovely track -

every time I feel awesome about myself, I remind me that Robert Smith wrote all the songs on 17 Seconds in a weekend.
