wow!

I have studied this on slowmo using this video

Now these are the things that inspire me to get a proper drum set and record my own sounds and then slice them up and have a go with reason.

Am I the only one that thinks this fill in is awesome?

"Get a proper drum set and record my own sounds and then slice them up and have a go with reason."

No drum kit. No budget or desire for it. I had a gf years ago who played the drums. I used to have fun banging (on her drum kit, that is). I think I ruined a few of her heads, though. But I don't really miss playing drums. I much prefer recording MIDI of finger drumming on my keyboard. Works for me. I do miss the paradiddles.

I found that ReTouch Control Note Repeat is a great Player for drum fills. Check it out.
Players are to MIDI what synthesizers are to waveforms.

Drag paradiddle #2 is where it's at.
All the kids know this.
A lot of folks like to diss us drumbers, but you will miss us when we're gone.

Which fill, the original or the cover (they are not the same fill…)? ;)
And yes, I’ve got my 70s Gretsch fully mic’ed up and ready to go 24/7 for the first time at home, always only a button press or two away from making glorious noise!

It is my home studio. FWIW, this is the FIRST time in my 62 years to have my kit at home fully setup and ready to record. This has been my dream since my 20s, and only took 40 years to pull off (and I still don’t have Neve or API mic pre amps and EQs to record through as I would in a “real” studio).

It's been a long time since I could hit the drum where I slept

I'd like to thank my now deceased parents and wonder what exactly they were thinking.
"Honey, let's buy our smolderingly angry teenage son a drum set!" What could possibly go wrong?

Thought I'd dig into my otherwise useless drum training and transcribe the two fills showing the differences.
Also, note that the first fill uses two toms, the second uses three.
