Brings up an interesting point. Or I’m going to bring it up anyway.
Why isn’t there more funny music? Purpose built, humorous.
I’m a big fan of the orb because a lot of their music makes me chuckle.
But most music expresses happiness, anger, sadness, intensity, cosmic vision and inspiration but it’s rare that music is made seriously that’s humorous.
Beck too. He’s funny often.
This wasn’t made to be funny I don’t think. But there’s my point.

I guess it depends what you class as humorous? There are some musically amazing and well constructed songs by Bad Lip Reading on his channel that are also funny and there is also songs like 'Dear Penis' that have done the rounds on the internet for years.
It certainly wasn't, here is a humorous video about who she actually is and what she did.

There are a few parody bands that excel at making funny music. Here's a notable example: https://nanowarofsteel.bandcamp.com/music (I can also name a few more German ones like J.B.O., or Die roten Rosen, or to some extend Die Ärtzte, or Knorkator).

Anyway, it was just a thought. More that people tend to listen to music they can identify with. When you’re sad you listen to sad music. Depressed people listen to the smiths (heh heh…). So it’s interesting that music is so bound up with identity for one. But also I stand by my original statement. Yes, you can find joke bands like weird al or even Zappa (who’s Grady imo) but generally I just think you don’t get serious music that’s funny. Not much. It tends to be slapdash. My opinion of course.
For what it’s worth I don’t think fear gets much of a play in music as emotions go either. Not really disturbing shit.
I went through a dark phase of trying to make genuinely disturbing music. It worked. Everyone agreed it was ‘good’ but it was so fucked up no one wanted to hear it.
Listening back, I agree. But it was a bad time for plaamook. Troubled waters you might say.

Chromeo is a good example of "good" music and fun. The two are good musicians, but don't take themselves seriously at all. Their videos are all professionally made.
