You have any idea how easy it is to leech on the big business and get discovered? All it takes is some remixing, hamming up, SEO, and you're in! Gotta look for the smol gates. Spend time marketing - or hire a manager if you don't like the filthy work.

I'm saying if you've spent years working on this without much success why do you think keeping at it will work out sometime soon? When having the skills then you should at least be able to get some contract work to keep going and surviving. If not, well, you'll have to have another means to get food on the table.

The point is to take a turn, if the initial path doesn't work. And to try multiple paths.

If people want to give up? Their choice! (A dumb one at that.)

Actually I don’t understand the idea giving up music. Sounds as if someone in that situation has been trying to like being a musician for some reason instead of just being one. I mean, how do you just decide I’m giving up music?

It's about success. Some people think they are not good enough if they aren't the Michael Jackson of 2023!

What people need to grasp, is that it's minimum 50% perfect music, and 50% perfect marketing. No such thing like perfect music and the publishers will magically just kill each-other to get the rights to your music.

I never wanted to be famous but being just successful has proven to be pretty elusive too.
Looked like it would start to turn over at one point…I was very optimistic…but it’s all sort of dead now.

Or simply having a short bass heavy sequence/drop that a prominent tiktok bloke uses for their new dance or trick performance which then goes viral and BAM there are your 30 seconds of fame.
