Beck didn't play electrified acoustic guitar, he played a new 6 stringed beast. And he did it his own way.

Sadly my first experience of JB was the album Blow by Blow. It's rated by many but I wasn't one of them. I hated it.
So it was a good few years before I found the real Jeff and realised that he more than deserved his reputation.
And every time the world loses one of the big 'uns I feel that bit older.

RIP

Much respect to Mr. Beck although I was never a super-fan and never owned any of his records What IS amazing to me is the number of my FB musician (and non-musician) friends posting memories and RIPs for Jeff Beck, WAY more than any other musician that has passed away in recent years. Seems he touched many lives in a positive way and remained humble (and quiet) along the way, so I don’t really know much at all about him other then the music he made. RIP.

Not unlike Jaco, he was a true individualist on his instrument, and that instrument was never the same afters.
Also he did not GAF.
Always a plus in my book.

That's some effortless guitar playing right there. RIP.

I bough this Jeff Beck Group album during college in 1971. "Got the Feeling" and "Situation" were my favorite songs. Kinda funky songs but great guitar. I didn't follow much of his later stuff as I explored other bands and guitarists.
