Just wondering what everybody does when not making music in their free time.

I love to ride my motorbike when the weather is fine, it has always been my love beside making music, and I ride bikes for almost 40 years.

Currently I drive a hefty Yamaha XJR 1200 SP from 1997, have her already for 11 years.

My daily driver is a Kawasaki Versys 1000, meaning I'm not only riding in nice weather. For the fun part, I have a CB1300, but unfortunately that one hasn't been out of storage for close to two years now. But the Kawa is also fun to ride, and it sees around 500 Km each week.

Maybe we can do a two wheeled meetup next summer, somewhere between Zaanstad and Zeeland :puf_bigsmile:

Zeeland mmmm. Beautifull, been there a lot, did extensive scubadiving years ago, but not anymore……..

I visit Zeeland every year to shop at Bax in Goes, we have a Bax near us in Amsterdam, but I don’t like that shop!

A meet up is always possible, compared to most others we are living “close” to each other…..

As for motorbikes, I did 500 km a week too, but now I work from home, I only ride with nice conditions.

Greetz from Assendelft/Zaanstad!

It's tough to choose, but I'd say I love cooking!

Favorite inspiration would be Marco Pierre White. Although I disagree on using Knorr Stock Pots. I prefer Maggi beef stock cubes.

Studying languages. I got into it about 13 years ago when I met my friend Moses on YouTube who just opened my world to languages. I was only studying Spanish but he was fluent in like in a ton of languages. Got pretty good at Spanish and Italian, they're basically the same once you learn one, and I've struggled with French for years. Dabbled in a few others with no success but I still love it. Kinda fell off of it and have forgotten most of what I learned after the pandemic started since I couldn't get out and practice like I wanted. I'm 43 now and have a goal of being a horrible intermediate in 5 languages by the age of 50.

Wow what a chalenge….. I speak, read and write Dutch and English. I understand and speak a little German ( my uncle lived there for the best of 60 years) and I learned at school. I had French lessons for two years at school too, but never got the grip of it. As an adult I tried to learn Spanish, but could not get a grip on it too.

Get back into it. It’s never too late. I’ve realized that even when I struggle and say things completely wrong in a foreign language, the people I’m speaking to are always so warm and welcoming, esp since they don’t have to struggle to speak bad English. They just patiently wait for me to get wherever I’m trying to verbally go  . My father-in-law is from Panama so I have a more vested interest in getting Spanish. And French has been my nemesis since high school so my goal of learning that is personal. Im thinking of trying Japanese but my goodness that language is hard. But my friend told me it was one of his most rewarding languages that he learned. He was C2 fluent.

First I work too much and now you want me to have two hobbies? Sheesh. Some people are just never happy.

It's more than that. : ) I like the whole cooking process. Otherwise I'd just go to restaurants.
