Sticking with my 12 Pro since I own it. But it really becomes more worth it if you’re using the camera. Bonus if you also have a Mac. Transferring videos over airdrop is very convenient.

Really what I meant is that I plan to upgrade my iPhone 11 Pro Max because of the camera. I would never consider giving money to (1) an advertising empire dabbling in smartphone operating systems out of irrationally defensive fear (2) in exchange for a vastly inferior app compatibility story with (3) vastly inferior performance.

I'm looking for a second hand iPhone 1. How much is the upgrade to 14? I hope they didn't go crazy with their upgrade prices the way RS did. ;)

I’ve got a 4 and a 6. Also an iPod Photo and a 1st Gen Nano.

I'd like to upgrade the 1st Gen Nano to an iPhone 14. And then sell it on ebay. What's your best price for the Nano?

OK, deal! As long as you can wait about 6 more months for payment. As fast as everything is going to hell, it should take that much money just to buy a loaf of bread pretty soon.

I’m still on a Se1.
It doesn’t vibrate any more and the new screen it’s got is v poor quality. And the camera is a bit fucked as it’s got some shit in it.
But it’s got a headphone jack.
So...no.

My Galaxy note 9 still serves me well.
My girlfriend has an iPhone and I find it less user friendly. Just little things like checking how many steps I've done, I can swipe down and it's in my notifications, my girlfriend has to open an app and then wait a few seconds for it to update.
I guess iPhone appeal to those who like things to be simple and intuitive, which is something to be said, but I like to tweak and tinker. I guess I can also concede that audio latency is also better on iPhone but on the other hand, android has a better range of apps.

Have not tried Airdrop yet as I got old mac, but is it a solution for the wired lightning-usb transfer? Is it fast enough?

Sticking with my iPhone 8 cos it’s bought and paid for and it still works (kinda… have to carry battery backup pack with me all the time, it has about a 3 hour battery life now but otherwise it’s fine).

I prefer cameras for photography (big photography fan, carry a Fujifilm X100V with me most of the time and only use the phone for basic stuff). And the iPhone 8 is recent enough to do most things I need it to. Won’t replace it until it dies. Also new iPhones are stupid expensive, if I’m going to spend my scarce free cash with Apple it will be on a new M1 laptop that’s about as expensive as a phone…

Yeah the transfer is quite fast. Not as fast as a thunderbolt but quite good for transferring a couple short 4k videos

Selig, my point was to discuss about camera quality of phones here as it was one of the criteria of choice.

But the person I was talking to has strong feelings about some brands which I accept and understand so I decided to stop this part of the discussion.

What is wrong there ?

For what it's worth, nothing is wrong with that as far as I'm concerned.

Platform vs platform isn't a discussion worth having. People don't change their views.

Decades ago, I spent a stupid amount on time in Mac vs Windows flame wars and finally realized it was … um … stupid.

Instead I should have said something like: I don't care about cameras enough to jump to Android.
