Still rockin' an 8 Plus, It's been good. (Doesn't mean I'm a fan boy* either). I like/dislike both iOS/Android.
As for the new 14s, I thought that new "dynamic island" was a nice integration to the pill cutout.

The Linksys iPhone was a home Wi-Fi phone. I actually had one (not this model, there were several). It predates the Apple iPhone by a few years, and apple simple ignored the fact that Linksys already had the trademark for it. I don't recall any lawsuits though, so I suspect that Apple paid Linksys a nice amount of money for it.

So I can ask for help via direct satellite connection. No cellphone towers? No problem. That's nice. I wish I could do the same, sending the R+ credentials via satellite, making beats way down in my forest.
Wait a minute. Create a R+ app so I can open/authorize Reason via my iPhone 14 anywhere in the world every 30 days or so. Hmmm.

As a geek, I should have some snobby technical reason having to do with some obscure advance.

But it's the camera. (drool)

I need all the telephotos and low-light-conditions and stupid degrees of detail in my pocket at all times.

These days after spending 20 minutes watching videos about composition you can make AMAZING pictures.

And lately the camera is getting so damned good you can almost wave it in the general direction of something cool and compose later.

Have you looked on xiaomii ultra? They seems to lead the back by a margin in camera phone now...

No mentioning of any mic improvements. 48mpx and prores, but still only lightening port…
Improvements is there but feels like only s middle step. Next phone will need be usb-c/thunderbolt and improved mics. Why call it pro when not go whole way?
Would I want it? Yes.
Would I pay full price just to own it? Nope.

Not untill the day It will be possible to make free phone calls via Sat internet worldwide, just to offset the cost of the "thing" before it locks you out.
Nokia 3310, no OS. I had a couple Blackberry, and an Andrfoid Sasmung, but since I broke them all, I went back to the sturdy 3310.

Really what I meant is that I plan to upgrade my iPhone 11 Pro Max because of the camera. I would never consider giving money to (1) an advertising empire dabbling in smartphone operating systems out of irrationally defensive fear (2) in exchange for a vastly inferior app compatibility story with (3) vastly inferior performance.
